Do not go to Darien lake fright fest such a waste of money didn’t even get to go through any of the haunted houses and when I talked to others that waited in line for 2 hours for the haunted houses they said they were terrible and absolutely not worth it. Not one person in that park lastnight was happy literally everyone there was upset and I will never pay money for that ever again what a waste of 55 dollars.

"Fright Fest sucks!"

This is a review for the Fright Fest attraction at Darien Lake. Do Not, and I will repeat, DO NOT, go to Darien Lake just for Fright Fest. If you are a Halloween scare lover, It is definitely not worth the money to go just for Fright Fest. Now I am speaking specifically as in just an adult outing for Fright Fest. If you go to enjoy the park and add Fright Fest to you entry purchase, It is so not worth it. Enjoy the park and go to some other scare in the area. 1 haunted attraction, Bloodstone Hallow, had so much potential. But lacked some additional scare actors. Scarecrow Row was a complete waste of time. No one jumping out at you, no good sceneries. I think there were maybe 4 or 5 actors in the entire walk. And the talked to you. Didn't scream. Didn't try to scare ya. Talked!! His coming, run. He's coming to get you. Blah blah blah. The park itself is always a good time. The rides are great. The food is way overly priced. But what do you expect? Its an amusement park. I have been to many haunted attractions in the area from Williamstown NY to Buffalo over the years and Fright Fest is by for the worst for the money and the worst for a good scare. They should at least give you a free snickers bar.

We camped for 2 nights and purchased a season pass. We enjoyed the site, clean washrooms and showers. The waterpark was our favorite and rented a cabana. The rides, food and laser light show was amazing. We had such an amazing time, we highly recommend.

"Sucked. Very disappointed."

We had a OK time, not sure if we would return, even though we have been season pass holders for 8 years +. Now, we are not first time park goers, we have been going for almost 10 years. Since Six Flags has taken over prices have tripled. Parking, tickets to park, games, food, and drinks. I get it if there were improvements. One piece of pizza is $17! One piece! Chicken fingers that were around $12 are now almost $19. Paint is flaking everywhere exposing metal, pieces of benches are missing exposing large nails right at the height of children's knees. The canvas of the rides is dirty and some look to be covered in mold. The water slides look disgusting having not been power washed. The wading pools and wave pool have have severely cracking making for tripping hazards or a stubbed toe or two, missing paint chips that seem to be floating in the water with babies. They added a new water tower thing in the children's section of the water park, but the palm trees are flaking large metal and paint coatings, the branches are missing, and overall looks in disrepair. Drink stations were covered in syrup and debris and never cleaned. The ponds have never been really clean, but now they look like sewage run offs and it is really gross. There is accumulations of trash floating in every water area in the park. I don't know where all the extra money they are charging is going, but it is not to improve this park. Used to love spending the summers at this park. Sad that this is no longer a option for our family. The ONLY reason there are 3 stars is BECAUSE the gentleman who worked at the SUBWAY in the park on August 8th 2024 at about 3-4pm was incredibly diligent when I mentioned a severe food allergy. Without even asking, this gentleman immediately made sure to protect me from any kind of contamination. He understood the importance of a food allergy and did not cut corners. I appreciate this very much.

"Great potential but room for improvement"

First visit for one adult and a teen Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Like the title says it is a great park. It has a lot of potential I think now that Cedar Fair owns it maybe you’ll see some positive changes. I understand that staffing is an issue everywhere these days so there’s only so much you can say about that..The Moto coaster was closed and I guess mind eraser is under construction but that being said, there was still a good amount of coasters for the teenagers. There seems to be a lot of good family rides and rides for younger ones as well. The price to get in was right at $30 a head but once you get in there you see why it’s so cheap to enter..The food is off the charts astronomical so they’ve got you unless you’re going to pack a lunch go back out to your car and eat and come back in. I know amusement parks have never been cheap to eat but honestly it’s more than Disney. It’s out of control - I’m talking 1650 for a slice of pizza and two dinky garlic knots then it says it’s only 550 to add a drink - are you kidding me? How the heck does a family of four even go there? They do have a refill cup you can look into and a meal plan. We weren’t planning on staying more than about seven hours, so I didn’t think the meal plan would really be worth it. There are a few key rods. It seems to be missing, compared to other parks, such as a flume ride, or a raft ride. As far as water rides. They just have one that was kind of dinky. They do however, have a very nice water park. That’s also included in the price so that was appreciated. However, by the time we made it over there at 2:30 it was absolutely packed which was understandable because it was a hot day. The room for improvement I feel is better communication we were told that the predator coaster would open at 11:30 myself in about 20 other stood there and it never open till 12. Why wouldn’t you just change sign to read 12 than waste people time. We tried to rent a locker at the water park. The attendant was less than knowledgeable or helpful. We tried, and it kept declining our card then he just said oh those aren’t working so we never really rented a locker or stay real long there. We stood in line for 15 minutes at a drink stand to be towed. All the slushy’s were out of order. All the alcoholic slushy’s were out of order, and they wouldn’t even give us complementary water after we waited. That was not a good Experience. The size of the park is pretty good it’s not too big or too small and the water park seems to have a great variety of slides even though we didn’t get to do any of them we did the lazy river. It’s very long and a nice size so that you don’t have people pushing into you they actually had you wait in line to get on which does make sense than letting it get crowded to the point where it’s not enjoyable. I think it needs may be another key coaster or a ride. I’d like to see an inside rod they don’t have any type of like ride through Funhouse or any type of indoor coaster or something of that to offer. It’s kind of funny usually every park has some type of a spooky house you either ride through or walk through - would still rated a good park. Just don’t plan on eating a whole lot there or else you’re going to re-mortgage your house. The laser show at the end of the night, which is only for passholders or on site. Guess was a wonderful, free surprise, and it was actually a very good show, so thank you for that. I think you’ll see many improvements to come. This park is really pretty with all the woods and Lake surrounding it and it has a lot of potential just needs a little more polish and updating.
