I think its funny that when you read the reviews here, it seems like half the people are saying this is only good for adults & kids will be bored - the other half saying only kids will enjoy this and adults bored. I came here the first time when I was a kid (maybe 8?) and I remember being completely amazed. I believe up until our visit I had thought things like shrunken heads, and animals born with two heads, were all fairy tales. Ripley's blew my little kid mind. So I was super excited to bring my 6-year old, and I think she loved it as much as I had. She even wanted to come back and do it again the next day lol (though i honestly thought that would be boring). Of course - this is the only Believe It Or Not Museum I've ever done (same for my kiddo) - so we don't have any others to compare to. The outside of the building is fun and bright and really gets your attention. The inside is darker - I feel like I recall it being brightly lit 20-some years ago. It kind of has a spooky feel to it, and some of the displays did have my 6-yera old spooked a little. There's an illusion at the beginning of like a crystal and the sign says can you grab it, which of course my kiddo tried to do - and then it either blew air or made a loud noise or something and scared the crap out of her so she was a little on edge the rest of our visit lol. I would recommend if kids spook easy avoid that, or at least warn them. Otherwise, the exhibits are neat. They do seem sot of antique/old but it gives the place an almost magical feeling vibe. There are quite a few things you can interact with and lots of stuff that makes great photo ops. There were a few coin operated things that had me wishing we had brought quarters (old school fortune telling Zoltar for one). Staff was great - as I mentioned she was a little spooked, so when I went to the bathroom she was really unhappy to be left alone, and a staff member who was cleaning came over to talk to her about an exhibit, which calmed her down. We had the museum almost entirely to ourselves on a Sunday evening in Aug. The Ripley's combo ticket is a good value. And we loved the gift shop too - after learning animals could be born with 2 heads my kiddo desperately needed a stuffed 2-headed cow. I personally thought the kind of retro shirts were really neat.

Interesting for adults. Kids may get bored easily but there are some fun activities inside. Unfortunately, if you've visited one Ripley's you've practically seen them all, but it's right there on Clifton hill so why not take a gander? Can you walk the Vortex?

We took the family through Ripley's for an evening activity. It is exactly what you'd expect. A bunch of 'oddities' and 'attractions'. There are many interactive displays for you to participate in. Overall, it's one of the better options on Clifton Hill for families to do. Not cheap, but at least you can be entertained/distracted for a bit!
