Description

from SeaWorld San Diego
SeaWorld San Diego ’s new dueling roller coaster, Tidal Twister, made its debut in 2019. A first of its kind adventure, this unique ride is an exhilarating experience that demonstrates the power of the ocean. Accelerating to 30 mph, riders will twist and bank as if riding the tide along a tight figure-8 track that includes a dynamic zero-G roll at the center section. Two trains, holding 16 passengers each, load at opposite ends of the figure-8 track and cross in the center with guests facing both forward and backward on the trains. A height requirement of only 48" makes this a perfect ride for younger guests and family members.

At SeaWorld® San Diego, you’ll connect with the sea and go on exhilarating rides and amazing adventures. Get up-close and personal with dolphins, penguins, sharks, and more. Plus, step beneath the waves and go hands-on at Explorer’s Reef™ - an all-new larger-than-life coral realm where you can touch a shark, a crab, or thousands of tiny cleaner fish that will nibble playfully at your fingers. It’s an exploratory adventure you’ll just have to see to believe.

"Shows were Excellent"
January 2020 NEW
You're kind of busy running from show to show to make sure you get a good seat.
Do NOT buy the Reservations. Unless you get there 30-45 min early, they get full quick. All the other seats were just fine. So we wasted $20 there.
The All Day Food was worth it. The problem is you're running to shows so we only got to eat 3 times instead of our original plan of 4 or 5 times. We ate right at opening, then lunch somewhere then end of day. We tried to get in 1 more but lines were too long and we would have missed shows.

The shows will have you ooooing, ahhhhing and laughing. They were all great!

"Beluga Wales!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

My husband and I visit San Diego every February to get away from cold weather, and we often decide to go to Sea World. It is not very crowded at this time of year, and the lines are not long. This time we purchased tickets to the Beluga Whale and Walrus Encounter. The experience was about half an hour, but we really loved it!! Who would ever think you could touch a beluga whale or feed a walrus? They were both so interesting to interact with. I would recommend this tour if you enjoy seeing animals up close!!

"Great trip supporting an excellent rescue company"

Sea World is filled with people who care about the animals. They do there best to enrich the lives of animals that already live there and run a very successful rescue, rehabilitation, and release program. Learn about our oceans and the inhabitants that live there and need our help while also riding awesome rollercoasters.

"Behind the scenes Sloth Experience is fantastic"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed February 21, 2020 NEW
My wife and I did the sloth experience where you get to meet and feed a sloth. While this is in addition to the basic admission, it it completely worth it. The sloths are such amazing creatures that it is a real treat to see them up close. In addition, the exhibits like the Penguin Encounter, Sea Turtle area and Wild Arctic are really excellent ways to see some unique animals. The walruses and beluga whales are particularly incredible animals to see. We would absolutely recommend spending a day here if you enjoy seeing some unique animals in a close up environment.

"Good Place if you Have a Year Pass"

I would normally rate Sea World 5 stars, but on this visit, (February 13), so many rides were under maintenance and not available to enjoy. There seemed to be lots of remodeling going on as well. There were only 3 sea life shows going on that day. I haven’t been to Sea World in almost 10 years, and a few of my favorite things were missing. (The 3-D adventure ride, the animal show that featured lots of dogs, cats, etc. and the Anhieser Busch horses). I was happy that my friend had a free pass for me on this date, or I would have been very disappointed for paying full price. Also, I thought it was a big rip off that you have to wait in line to pay $2 for a locker and lock up your purse for a ride on the Atlantis roller coaster. They should have cubbies next to the ride, like the other rides. I really don’t think it’s even necessary to have to place your purse in a locker for this particular ride, since it’s pretty mild and doesn’t have any wild spins or turns. On the positive, the sea life encounters that we did visit were really cool to see and I’m sure children of all ages would enjoy. The sea lion show was cute. The weather was perfect.

Went to Seaworld on Feb. 16. Three of the rides were closed for maintenance which i can understand as it is probably the slow time of the year. Dolphin and Sea Lion shows were really good. The animal caretakers were very nice and approachable if we had any questions. The employees seemed nice and were helpful. The rest was just so-so. Didn't get to see the orca show. They had a behind the scenes look going on where you could go up on the sky walk and see them caring for the orcas but we were up there for about 5 minutes and then told we had to keep moving because there was a line outside so didn't get to see much of that. I guess first come, first served didn't apply to that. Seemed pretty busy for a day in February but maybe it was because half the park was closed. Overall was pretty unimpressed, especially with the tickets pushing $100. Should consider having cheaper tickets in the off season if multiple attractions are going to be closed. We were with a 6 and 10 year old. They liked the animal shows but that was about it. Food was equally so-so. We probably won't go again. I appreciate what they do rescuing the animals, but probably won't drop another $400 to go again.
