"A beautiful wedding stay !"

I can’t say enough !! I worked with Ms. Campbell to block in rooms for our family for a wedding this past June. She was so helpful and patient and answered every email in such a timely manner. Let me be clear .. I emailed her at least twice a week starting in January. The location, the rooms, the view of the marina, the proximity to Mission Beach and Marina Village, and all the activities were exactly as described. Beautiful, affordable, comfortable and just perfect for all our family and friends! We were all able to enjoy dinners at the Firefly and go for walks by the Marina or soak in the hot tub or gather by the pool. Guest services helped with early check in and even waived the fee for the honeymoon suite. I was so happy to meet Ms. Campbell and thank her for taking such good care of us .. I cannot recommend the Dana enough . An added perk was watching the fireworks from Sea World every night and we even saw a rocket launch from Space X!!!! We will be back soon and highly recommend ! I’d give it 10 stars if I could !!

The only decent things about this hotel were the bed and the shuttle to SeaWorld. Everything else? A disaster. The front desk staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. The Firefly restaurant staff somehow managed to be even worse. I’m from Arizona, and it takes a lot for me to call someone rude, but these people went out of their way to be. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told they “just come in whenever they want.” Seriously? The shuttle situation was a joke—great service one day, full of attitude and mixed messages the next. The woman on the phone argued with me, then ended up calling my husband back and agreeing to the exact time I’d already suggested, after making it into a whole issue. Both of the drivers we had were wonderful. At Firefly, someone literally hung up on me mid-order. No name, no confirmation, just “That’s it?” and click. When I picked up the food, I watched the staff mock another guest right to their face who had asked a simple question about pool towels. Poor guy even made eye contact with me to confirm he just got treated that way. You could see his smile literally drop when he walked away, it was so sad... You pay to relax, not to be treated like an inconvenience. I’ve had better customer service at gas stations. I even took pictures of every inch of the room before we checked out, just in case. With how sketchy that service was, I would not put it past them to do extra charges for having hair on the carpet or the bed being slept in. Just stay at the Hyatt. Same prices, better views, and way better service.

"Perfect Hotel for a San Diego Stay"

First time visiting San Diego and this hotel had everything we needed. It is conveniently located to everything so it's really just a short drive. My room was spacious, the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the balcony patio looking at the bay. The pools were actually heated so that was nice. I loved the nighly movie at the pool. Great hotel, I will definitely stay here again!

Great location to many attractions and able to relax without all the city noise! Friendly and professional staff! Very comfortable bed and pillows! On site restaurant had great food! Easy walking paths along the bay right outside your front door.

"Not worth the price"

We recently stayed at The Dana Hotel and, unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. While the restaurant food was good and the pool areas were decent, the overall experience was not worth the price we paid. The biggest issue was the cleanliness and condition of the rooms. One day, housekeeping came in, changed a bit of the garbage and dropped off some fresh towels, but the bathroom was clearly untouched, and the bed was left unmade. It didn’t feel like a full cleaning service was ever done. The cleaning service is very very poorly executed. They never vacuumed our room either and we stayed for 8 days. The rooms also have very poor sound insulation; we could clearly hear people walking and running in the rooms above us, which made it difficult to relax or sleep at times. We could hear people speaking outside and through the walls. Additionally, the hotel’s promotional photos are quite misleading. The property does not look or feel like what’s shown online, it’s much more dated and run-down in person. Overall, this hotel has potential with its location and restaurant, but for the price, you’re better off looking elsewhere until serious updates are made to the rooms and cleaning standards are looked into.
