"Old and rusty!"

The pictures of the Hyatt are nothing compared to the actual hotel. We stayed in a suite, and we were placed in the old building. The room was very old, smelled and not cleaned very well. The hotel charged me for valet and self-parking on the same day of leaving when I only self-parked. I would not recommend staying here.

"Staff Who Truly Care + A Fabulous Location = Unforgettable Stay"
TripAdvisor user rating 5.0 out of 5

Wow! Our stay at the Hyatt Regency in Mission Beach was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. They genuinely cared that we had an amazing experience, and it really showed. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Mission Beach with easy access to everything we wanted to do. But the real surprise was the pool area. I had no idea there was a water slide, and it was so much fun! It added a playful, unexpected touch that made the trip feel even more special. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the property was beautifully maintained, and everywhere we went, we were greeted with warm smiles. Whether it was dining onsite, lounging by the pool, or just soaking in the views, we felt completely relaxed and cared for. This was far more than just a getaway, it was a true vacation experience. We can’t wait to come back and will be recommending the Hyatt Regency Mission Beach to all our friends and family. 🌊☀️

"Decent option with plenty of potential but inconsistent service standards hold it back"

We visited this resort as a family in late August for two nights. Overall, a decent experience but certainly not to the level I have experienced at other Hyatt properties from either a service or a facilities standpoint. Highs: 1) The property itself is quite pretty and worth a stroll if you manage to get some time. 2) They have outdoor table tennis, cornhole and firepits in the main courtyeard outside the lobby. 3) The staff, as is the case at most Hyatts, were very pleasant and accommodating. Opportunities for Improvement: 1) The water slides were rough and had extremely limited hours (12-6 pm). If you were staying one night at the hotel you had little to no opportunity to use the slides unless you checked in exactly on time. Even if you were staying at the hotel for multiple days - you were very likely sightseeing which meant that the slide hours were just not usable. The slides themselves were fun but my kids reported them being quite rough suggesting maintenance was lagging a bit. 2) The staff, while polite, seemed difficult to prod into proactive customer service or engagement. A) when we arrived we found our room unlocked with the door open and the TV on in the room. We reported this to the staff (and the manager who was at the front desk when we brought it up) and while they were apologetic and explained that the housekeeping staff must have left it open - didn't really do anything address the concerns we brought up that the service was incomplete (it turns out that they did indeed forget to restock the bathroom) or that having the door open was security issue before we arrived. They apologized but not much beyond that. I didn't ask for any compensation because I don't expect it but it was interesting that they didn't offer to inspect the room, move us or really anything. B) The stated that they offered a shuttle to seaworld that went back and forth every 15-20 minutes yet on the two days we tried to use it to get back to the hotel the shuttle was not running. In each case once we called the hotel someone got in and came but it would have been nice to know that we had to call for it before waiting for 30 minutes each time. 3) The facilities themselves were pretty old - our room was located in the same building as the lobby which was convenient the space itself was something out of drab governmental architecture from the 1970's, dark, small and not very welcoming. The hotel is actually a mid-range hotel masquerading as a resort - as with most resorts they are interested in the upsell but probably need to rebrand as a higher end resort, upskill their staff on customer service training and charge more. As it is, they don't compare very favorably with some of the other hyatt resorts we have stayed at before.

I would highly recommend this property and location. From the moment I arrived the atmosphere was very relaxed and calm. I felt like I was in Hawaii. The views from any angle at the hotel were gorgeous. The accommodations were wonderful. The rooms were clean, spacious and very modern. All the personnel from the Front desk to the Red Marlin restaurant were pleasant and professional. They all seemed happy to work there.
