The room had a bad odor, carpets were nasty, parking is tight, definitely needs a remodel. Friendly front desk person, only good thing about staying there.

"Very poor quality and bad customer service"
July 2018
It was my understanding that I had reserved a room with bunk beds. At checking in they were very unhelpful and unconcerned about my needs. I went to talked to them in 3 different occasions, in 3 different dates about getting what I paid for. The last date I was there, I talk to Hispanic man seem like the manager and he replied by asking me. How many is there in your party. To which I said five, with a tone of voice he reply; your room only allows 4. To wish I didn't reply because I was being attacked. After the first night we spent there, after we came back from our trip. The room smelled like old humidity and it was humid. I asked to be moved to another room. to which, they say there is no more rooms available and that it is probably my fault cuz I left the AC on. Our towels were replaced with dirty towels. And there was cockroaches in there on the second day. This place has very bad customer service poor room service and low-quality rooms. I will never recommend wyndam.

"Bad part of San Diego"
July 2018
Booked this trip for 3 Nights with tickets to San Diego Zoo and Sea World, Hotel was very Run Down, Dirty, Stinky, Room was very smelly, we are lucky our room did not have roaches as others have posted. A/C worked but room overall was dirty and depressing. Went to the Zoo and told myself it was what you do when you are on vacation that matters, Room is just for recooperating. But 2nd night, The people above us had a kid doing laps and running back and forth really loudly, could not sleep at all, we left San Diego and cancelled our Sea World trip because we wanted to get out of there badly. Went back to Bishop Ca and stayed in a nice Hotel for the rest of our trip. Please, do not stay here if sleep and cleanliness is important.

This was the first time our daughter went to San Diego and she enjoyed it tremendously. She loved the bunk beds in the room. We would definitely return back and stay there.

"Recent vacation stay"
June 2018
I didn't check the reviews. Big mistake looking at this old oversized motel. I did remember someone mentioning a particular person at the desk. I gave her a tip and asked for a nice room. No problem. The room was recently renovated. This is no suite as the king bed is next to to long counter with the bathroom sink. I have never EVER seen floors so filthy! My great grand kids were barefoot and it looked like they walked the streets of San Diego for a month straight. I kid you not. There must of been some wet paint somewhere in the room. I can't believe it gone on my new Binn Ristretto. I was totally pissed.

"Amazing Customer Service from Lauren, Brian and Monique!!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

I stayed for one night for a work event. Monique checked me in and made the process so easy. I was on a call and in the midst of a stressful week, Monique's understanding and smooth service made it hassle free. In the evening, I needed some things printed in color and needed multiple copies. Since their business center printer only printed in black and white, Brian went above and beyond to help me print from their office printer. On duty Manager, Lauren, was very efficient and helpful. Thank you guys for making my stay so pleasant!

"Disappointing Check In"

Made reservations online for this particular Wyndham Hotel as it is near several sites we wanted to visit. Arrived approx 5:00pm to check in. Given room keys to a room in an adjacent building. Had to drive onto a major street, turn at a red light, go through a locked gate to arrive at building elevator. Went toroom, used entrance card, but found room was either being occupied or not cleaned by housekeeping. Loaded all our luggage back into car. I walked to Hotel lobby and was told room we got was on "clean list" from housekeeping. If informed them that the room was not cleaned and we need another room. The front desk person gave me keys to another room in a different building. Walked back to car, drove through locked gate onto another major street, turned at a red light to the building of the second room. Went to room, but key would not open door. Walked back to lobby, but was told I didn't know how to operate door key. Sent engineering guy to room, said I had to pull up on the door handle, not push down as other door worked. Went to lobby, asked for manager. Was told manager had gone home for the day, would be back the next day around 10:00am. Next day at around 2:00pm, went to Lobby, asked to see manager. Said which manager, that there were 3 managers. I saw a sign that gave the manager's name. Asked for him. Said he was on his lunch break and wouldn't be back for another 30 minutes. The front desk person said the manager asked her to try and resolve my problem. Explained that I wanted them to "comp" me the cost of the lodging the prior night. Said she couldn't do that, but could give me a 25% discount, but that since we made the reservations on line through a 3rd party, I would have to call 3rd party myself to find out how much discount I could get. I asked her to have the manager call me in our room when he got back from lunch. She kept going back into another room of their office each time she told me what they could do for us. I suspect the manager wa in, but just didn't want to discuss personally with me. I will not utilize this hotel again. We live in Los Angeles, but travel to the San Diego area several times a yer. Sitting here waiting on manager to call.....

I would have given this hotel a half a star. This hotel is in a prime location, beaches are 10 mins away, also sea world and other great stores are a walk away. This hotel is truly a 2/3 star, dirty and people are constantly walking in and out parking area. I was going to get a refund after Seeing the room but thanks to the young lady name Tyara she helped made sure our trip was VERY comfortable. She changed our room to a safer location and even upgraded us. Thanks so much to tyara without her I think we would have def found another room elsewhere.

1st room carpet was atrocious with a funky smell and crunch to it. 2nd room's carpet was cleaner but still turned socks and feet colors from walking on it. Definitely needs the scheduled remodel that the staff insisted was in the works. The King bed was comfortable in the family suit, but the twin mattresses could be better for the kids on the trundle sleeper combo. Also, If an item like the door for the mini fridge is missing they should atleast make an attempt at repairing it or painting over the exposed wood areas. Cleaning crew also needs to look under and around furniture when cleaning.

"Don’t believe all the negative reviews"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed May 09, 2019 NEW
I booked on Priceline and then the property popped up. Many of the reviews frightened me, however, at check in I discussed my concerns with Lauren at the front desk. Lauren was so understanding and helpful. She stated she’d read the reviews and said, “let’s see what we can find”. The top floor junior suite I was assigned was well worn, but the room was clean and spacious. My concerns about the parking lot were also alleviated when I met the very nice security guard. So, perhaps it isn’t a 3 star and is old, but is was clean, location is great, good value, and exceptional customer service.
