Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas, NV

WARNING! NOT A FAMILY SHOW & NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY! WARNING! This is NOT a family show whatsoever! Unless you think a practically naked girl that looks like a dominatrix on stripper poles doing the whole stripper show and spreading her legs is appropriate for your kids. This went way too far! I had to cover my kids eyes way too often. Other girls dressed provocatively and dancing sleazy bending over in their g strings to the crowd was absolutely unacceptable even for adults unless they know what they signed up for. Sticking tongues out in a sexual way... really... On the scary side of things, showing the actual thriller video was too scary for some kids. The acrobatics were good as expected from Cirque du Soleil, but the dancing was not great. Just ok. Not clean or in sync. Choreography was amateur, repetitive and boring. It was messy and too much going on all over the place all at the same time, but they do that in other shows too. Here it was much worse and not fun to watch at all. They should stick to acrobatics, leave dancing to others. We were bored and kept looking at our watch to see when it will be over. The kids kept asking me how much longer to go. We considered leaving in the middle, really should have done that. At the other shows we were told we can take still pictures no flash which we did, here someone came to me and said I can't even do that. Gee, I wonder why. At the end I knew why. On a positive, one dancer that did the moon walking was awesome, the acrobat guy with the long hair on the rope was amazing, the electric guitarist was great but it was way too loud, and you can tell the performers had fun so I gave it 1 star for that as I want to be fair and couldn't give it less anyway. The lights were super bright and in your eyes, obnoxiously so. The loudness was awful and we covered our ears. I am quite upset I was misled both by professionals and the reviews that this was a family show, that's why I wanted to put this review out there, so others don't go through what we went through. I am upset and disappointed that we went through this. It was disturbing. My kids caught some things as we were not prepared to cover their eyes fast enough, and asked why the girls were dressed like that and acting like that. Just awful. To top it off, after watching "Leaving Neverland" and knowing who Michael Jackson really was, we realized we never want to hear even one of his songs ever again. You should make sure to watch it. Should not have wasted our money on this show as there are so many others more worth watching. We saw 3 other shows in 2 days that were awesome. Put your money elsewhere.
