This place has a lot of activites. The unit that we had was very spacious. We had to use an elevator that seemed unreliable. The bar and restaurant is good. Very friendly. I booked this thru our timeshare. The big complaint is that they charge an extra daily fee. I was not happy with that at all. In fact it is a diamond Resort member and I am a diamond resort member and this is the only place that has ever charged us the extra fee and when brought to the attention of the woman that checked us in, she was not very helpful.

"Just OK - needs improvement."

We visited on 8/1/2020 until 22/1/2020 - this resort has many plus points but it does need improvement. Firstly, we checked in late after a 9 hour flight from the UK, 3 adults and 2 toddlers and were left with no help with our bags - not even the offer of a luggage trolley which we later found. This is a relatively large resort and lugging 5 bags, 2 kids and hand luggage to a condo, in the dark where you have never been before and don’t know the layout wasn’t easy, especially when it’s around 2am to you due to jet lag. There are golf buggies all over the resort, used by staff - it would have been nice to be offered assistance, especially after paying $22.50 a day in resort fees. The resort fees are a somewhat hidden cost and you are hit with them upon arrival. I paid my holiday off completely and wasn’t told of these fees. They cover the resort facilities but you can get the same for less. I’d had confirmation from a member of staff before I checked in that I didn’t have to pay resort fees, I printed this and brought it but still had to pay. I was that tired at this point and had 2 children to feed, I just let it go. We were starving so headed to the bar/restaurant on site to eat- quite expensive for what you get - $85 for 4 burgers and chips and soft drinks. Save yourself some pennies and get onto UberEats or DoorDash instead. The room itself was great - we had a 2 bedroom condo and the master suite was beautiful with a gorgeous big bed and a stand-alone bath - perfect for soaking in after a day in the parks. The kitchen is brilliant although a few small things were missing which I’d seen on a room tour via YouTube - silly things like an oven glove, dish soap - but we were given them a few days later when housekeeping realised. It wasn’t a big deal at all. Our room was 510C, opposite the pool and was a good location - it was quiet and easy to get to the pool and back with the kids. My only complaint is that it was a little dark - we had the lights on during the daytime. The pool that was near our condo is clean, well maintained if a little heavy on the chlorine (our bathing suits faded) and the hot tub is brilliant, as is the gym. There’s also BBQ grills around the pool area which we used and they were spotless. The water park was too cold and we only used it once, and to be honest, it wasn’t worth paying the resort fee for - you’ll only get good use of it if you aren’t doing the theme parks and have a few days to kill. The shuttle was good, but the times rubbish - they don’t coincide with park closing times and we often got an Uber back as we’d be waiting until 10.20pm for the return shuttle if we wanted to watch the fireworks, which was far too late as the return shuttle is a longer journey and would mean we got in around midnight. Not ideal with kids. We used the morning shuttle a few times, this was fine and the drivers pleasant. We had a bed change half way through our stay and this is where our problems started - myself, my husband and my mum were bitten in bed, with my mum now full of scabs that look like they will scar. We thought it was just due to new bedding maybe being washed in something different but as the marks scabbed it was clear they were bites. My mum was absolutely bitten to bits. Security came to inspect the room, gave us antihistamine cream and ice packs and organised a bed change, which we were told we had to pay for until I kicked up a fuss. We bought big repellant and sprayed all of the beds - we were offered a room change but as we only had 4 days left, we said we would see if the bedding change worked. It didn’t and we were bit again - security handed us literature that referred to how seriously they take bed bugs, and we signed a waiver when they left. It was a massive fuss which is both good and bad, it was more about them covering themselves than helping us, but we did decline a room change hoping the bedding change would work, so some responsibility lies with us. The last day when I was packing I done a sweep of the rooms for any bottles or dummies that had gone under the bed and saw toenails near the skirting board, which absolutely knocked me sick and made me wonder if the room we stayed in was just surface clean. It looked fine to the eye, but when you look a bit deeper it’s shabby around the edges and needs a good deep clean - you don’t notice it straight away as the nature of a Florida holiday for most is that you’re up and out and not really in the room. I mentioned it upon checkout and was told sorry and that was it. They don’t seem to care once they’ve took your money. My bank requested an email confirmation that my deposit had been released and it was a massive fuss just to get a simple email, but I got there in the end. Location wise - it’s nice. The nature reserve it sits upon is beautiful but it isn’t in walking distance to anything bar a seven eleven, so unless you are willing to Uber everywhere or have a car, it can become a ball ache. Upon checkout we were told a gift pack was waiting for us - what it really was was an opportunity to hard sell the timeshare scheme and take more money off us as we left. The gift bag was a string bag with the resort logo on it - hardly a gift bag! Just a sales tactic to corner you before you go. We also had a few calls trying to coax us into a timeshare tour. Do one, we are on holiday! Overall, we had a wonderful holiday but improvements are needed here - more attention to detail, better customer care and higher standards and you’re onto a winner. I wouldn’t return until the improvements were made and the bed bug problem rectified.

"Nice resort with serious maintenance/cleaning problems and guest relations."
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

The first unit we were given hadn't been cleaned properly, the second was clean with some serious maintenance issues, but was acceptable. With the design of the units, the resort grounds and activities there is so much potential that is being thrown away by Diamond Resorts. If they spent as much time and effort to taking care of their resort as they do trying to sell new timeshares they're wouldn't be any issues. After our sixth night we asked when there would be a clean up and the bedding/ towels changed, we were told after the seventh night. They asked that we put personal items away so there was be no confusion (lack of trust in their cleaning staff). They did not come after the seventh night, when called i was told that you had to stay a minimum 14 days before the bedding/towels were changed. We have stayed in third world countries where they clean up and change the bedding/towels after seven days, apparently Diamond Resorts has a belief that the United States of America is a fourth world country and you should use dirty bedding and towels, it seems apparent that their directors and shareholders do that in their personal lives. We have found broken glass on the carpeting and in the drain in the bathtub along with hair and a large bandage. The washing machine hot and cold taps were even hooked up backwards. It's a total reflection about the management priorities of Diamond Resorts, missed opportunities.

For over 30 years, we have been owners at Island of Bali/Liki Tiki villa. We have been satisfied, although the management went through several changes. This is a friendly and family-oriented resort. We highly recommend to anybody looking for rest, inspiration, and fun. Dr. Charles /Karol Borowsky and Family

We rented a 1 BR condo on this property that has all the amenities including a water park for a nice relaxing vacation in Orlando. It is clean, well-maintained and family-friendly. They offer complimentary shuttle services to Disney and Universal. All the staff is very helpful and courteous. The only drawback is its location, so the only grocery store within walking distance is a 7-eleven and Uber rides are not always available from local theme parks.
