DOLPHIN WATCH TOUR

Are we guaranteed to see dolphins and do we swim with them?

Fury cannot guarantee that you will see dolphins each day, but they do have a 98% success rate of seeing dolphins on their dolphin watching tours. This is because the dolphins are non-migratory. They are in Key West year-round and our captains are very familiar with where to find them. No, you will not swim with the dolphins. The dolphins that you are viewing are wild. You will watch these protected dolphins in their natural habitat. Fury is a voluntary member of Dolphin SMART, so this trip promotes responsible viewing of the dolphin in their natural habitat.

What food and drinks are provided and can we bring our own?

Fury does not provide food on the Dolphin Watch Tours but you are more than welcome to bring food with you, just as long nothing is in a glass container and it fits in a small soft cooler. Water and soda are available before you snorkel and beer and wine are available after you finish snorkeling.

Is the snorkeling different from the standard Fury reef snorkeling trips?

Yes, this trip takes you to the backcountry in the Gulf of Mexico. You will snorkel patch coral and sponge gardens with the possibility of Spotting Stingrays, Juvenile Fish, Sea Fans, Sea Rods, Sponges, and Isolated Coral Formations.

Mangroves are trees and shrubs that grow in tropical coastal areas. They typically have numerous entangled roots above ground. Mangroves help protect the shoreline by serving as a storm buffer and reducing wind and wave action in shallow areas. They also help prevent erosion by stabilizing the shoreline and line more than 1,800 miles of Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.
