"Great event and Great Service from Reserve Direct"
February 2019
Two families plus ourselves decided to book the Ka Moana Luau at Sea Life Park through Reserve Direct. By mistake, I booked the luau on the wrong date. I called Reserve Direct and spoke to Morgan. She contacted Ka Moana and resolved the problem with no financial penalty. Thank you, Morgan!

The luau, itself, was great. Plentiful and tasty food, fun music, spectacular show and idyllic setting. There were activity tables perfect for the four children ages 7 - 9 in our party. The performers were skilled and proud to share their Polynesian culture with us. We recommend arriving at the luau at the 5:30pm start time, and coming back to Sea Life Park another date (The luau ticket gives you park access any day within the following week). Don't miss the dolphin show!

Altogether a great time and great value for the money. It exceeded our expectations!

"Beautiful & Enertaining"
November 2018
Me and my daughter went with the celebrity package Ka Moana Luau and it was worth every cent! The only thing I wish I would have done was get there when the doors open. There are many stations with activities to enjoy before the show (Leigh making, ukulele lessons, headband making and paint tattoos..) From start to finish it was a joy to be there. You can feel the energy from the entertainers and it was educational, welcoming , beautiful and funny! My 5 year old and I enjoyed it immensely.

We have been to Hawaii about 5 times and although we find Luau's to be quite touristy we still end up going to one at each island. Ka Moana Luau was the second Luau weve been to in Oahu and by far this is the best one we have been to. The atmosphere and location was gorgeous on the East side of the Island with Rabbit island as the backdrop. Looked gorgeous as the sun was setting. Check in was simple at Sea Life park (Bonus for free entrance into the park prior to the Luau or up to 1 week after). There were many stations to learn more about Hawaiian culture (about 30 minutes to ease into the night), host was super funny, the show itself was amazing. Great story line about the Ocean, highlighted main styles of Polynesian dance and included some modern ones as well. We found other Luau's dragged on too much with the Emu ceremony and including guests on stage, but Ka Moana was just PERFECT
Drinks were good and FOOD (most importantly) was great. Good selection and plenty for second and thirds. Great experience overall! Will change your mind about boring/touristy Luau's :)

We booked a lual for 13 people. Due to Coronavirus our booking was canceled by ka moana. This was back in April 2020 when the islands shut down . We are now in August 2020 and still waiting for a refund. They kept saying they would refund as soon as business was up and running again. I eventually contacted my credit card company and disputed the charges. Ka moana sent me am email stating that they were sorry and that they would not dispute the refund from the credit card company but I recieved notice today that they did dispute it and the credit card company said they could not reverse the charges since ka moana argued that they were legit charges. I can't believe a business like this would RIP people off and keep their money in a time of crisis. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone ever, not unless your willing to risk losing a ton of money.

"The location was one of the best on the island!"

The location was one of the best on the island!! Ocean front with two islands in the background as well as cliffs behind the venue. We choose the transportation and it was great. Got a nice scenic tour in as well as on the drive up from Waikiki to Sea Life Park as the driver was very friendly and pointed out famous homes and beautiful sights along the way. The entertainment was excellent and very interactive (I got to go on stage to help demonstrate coconut husking!) . The buffet food was surprisingly good too. All the way around a great experience!!

"Great Show"

My very first Luau! We went here the second day of our stay on the island and it was definitely a great experience! The check in process was a lot of fun, with the woman who led us towards the luau giving us some insight and having us greet the other workers with a loud yell. They led in several big groups at a time, and if you were in the front you could hear her fine but anywhere near the back and you were probably confused as to why we were all yelling lol! The flower leis provided were beautiful! It was a great welcoming gift. The pictures were taken just along the cliff side (well not by it but you could see the ocean in the background) and it made for a really scenic picture souvenir. We ended up sitting front and Center-- talk about LUCKY! The two of us were directly in front of the stage and it was truly amazing to be able to be so close to all of the action. Really though, it was a relatively smaller venue so even if you got the lowest package you'd be able to see and hear everything that was going on. My favorite part of the show was definitely the fire dancing. They had state champions taking part, and even a Junior Champion as well. It was crazy to watch this young man (maybe 12) work so skilled with the fire knife. The food was pretty standard in my opinion. Good food, plenty for seconds, but pretty much what you'd expect out of a buffet. The Dessert though? Awesome. I have a major sweet tooth and the cake they had out was perfect for it!

My boyfriend and I found this luau thanks to Groupon. Unfortunately we had some crummy weather that day, so arrangements had to be made and seating was changed up a bit. This created some blind spots and blocked views, which was a bit irritating, but the show was AMAZING nonetheless! The fire dancing and MC was hilarious. Learning about the culture and history was great. The activities during dinner were fun.....lei making, ukelele playing, photos, etc. I was not impressed in the dinner. I had looked forward for weeks leading up to it for the Kalua Pork only to be sorely disappointed. It was dry and had no flavor to it. Definetly needed some sauce. The drink selection was not great and the drinks to buy were very limited and expensive.

"Great show!"

I really enjoyed the show. Unfortunately, my experience was scarred by the Covid-19 pandemic. As soon as I booked the Luau things changed rapidly re:social distancing and care. The meal was served buffet style which I had anticipated. However, with the virus threat I was certain there would be people serving the food not a self-service buffet with just a bottle of hand sanitizer. Under ordinary circumstances this probably would’ve been fine but I feel more care should have been taken to ensure cleanliness in the food line. Again the show was great!
