I have stay here a number of times over the last couple of years. This is the first time in a long time that I have had negative complaints about Greensprings. As always, the staff was very friendly at checkin and remembered me, which is always a treat. But there were alot of other issues. I checked in on 11/9 and is i scheduled to check out 11/12. Please note I arrived after waking up at 3 am on 11/9 drove 3 hours to another city, was there for 8 hours for my daughters class and drove 1 1/2 to get to the resort. 1) ordered a pot that came to me dirty. When asked to have it replaced was told can I just wash it. 2) after leaving home at 3 am yesterday to have my daughter in Portsmouth by 8 a.m., then waiting for her until 4 PM, then driving an hour and 1/2 to the resort I could not get any rest because of noisy stomping guest upstairs. I called front desk and was referred to security. Security said they would talk to them then I got a call back from another security officer saying that they can not address it until after 10 p.m. 3) drawers in kitchen were not wiped down before I got here. 4) noisy guest woke me and my husband up before 7 a.m. this morning 5) look at the following picture of the patio and grounds 6) the washing machine can be hear all over the unit 7) On Sunday night, I had to request 2 fans because my room was very warm and the ac was not working very well. 8) outside patio is moldy 9) outside lawn could be better kept but I understand with the season change it maybe a little more difficult. My kids consider this resort home away from home because we are here so much. But I must admit that I was disappointed this time and basically wasted about 24 hours here since we could not rest the way that we wanted to. I was disappointed that I didnt get any sympathy the on Sunday when I complained again about the noise and was simply told guest upstairs were leaving. My enjoyment shouldn't revolve on when someone else was leaving.

The resort is nice but the unit we stayed in was older. The appliances, furniture, fixtures etc needed some updating. The drapes were off some of their hooks, we found raisins on the carpet and I would tell everyone to stay away from the presentation. It took 3 and 1/2 hours!

Invited by a friend we are in a 2 bdrm unit. It's really nice, the master suite is great with a comfy bed. The living room furniture is not so great in the comfort department. The staff here is very good, friendly and helpful! The kitchen could use a few more things. The chairs to the dinning room table are really low and I felt as though I needed a booster...lol. Another thing about this resort is its in a great location, within 10 to 15 of everything!

"A Good Week, but Could Have Been Great"

Our family of six (our kids are ages 7,9,12, and 13) stayed in a 2 BD 2 BA condo for a week. We typically do not vacation in resorts (usually airbnb and vrbo places), but was offered an opportunity that we couldn't pass up. The location was good. It's convenient to the Historic Triangle, and we even drove to Norfolk and Virginia Beach for a day. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool and the games that are offered around the outdoor pool. The indoor hot tub was out of order, which was too bad because we would have enjoyed that. They told us at check in, and when we asked if it would be fixed within the week, she didn't know. The outdoor pool was closed for the season. We didn't participate in any of the activities offered through the resort, as we were not at the resort during the day. After reading other reviews, I was nervous about the bugs. My husband convinced me it would be fine. It took about 30 minutes before we found our first bug. We arrived late the day of our check in, and just wanted to get into our condo to get the kids to bed. It was past their bedtime. We were busy unpacking and getting the kids settled for bed when my oldest daughter let out a terrifying scream. She was closing the drapes in the living room area and there was a gigantic centipede on the drapes. Everyday we found 2-3 live bugs in the condo. We really were only in the condo in the morning briefly before heading out for the day. In the evening, we were there briefly before going to bed. I think to have 2-3 bugs everyday when we were barely in the room, is high. In the resorts defense, we did not bring it up with them because what did we expect them to do? Let us switch to a different condo? The amount of packing and unpacking for a family of six is no small task, and who is to say that another condo would be any better? We were on the ground floor, so maybe a condo off the floor would have been better. We thought about calling the front desk once we found that initial centipede, but it was so late, and we wanted to kids to get to bed. The time it would have taken to contact them, get another condo, pack our things up, move the family, and settle them back down, would have been way too late. I did expect the condo to be a little cleaner upon arrival. There was a hair in the master shower. Also, one of my kids was counting on sleeping on the pull out couch. When I pulled it out, it was gross. The mattress had crumbs and was dirty. She ended up not sleeping on it because it was gross, and slept on a cot that we brought. The walls are very thin, and you will hear those around you. The first night the person above us was walking around all night long. I woke up multiple times to the sound of him/her walking around. It was really loud. Also, when in the living room, you could hear the family staying in the condo next to us all the time. The wifi was not consistent either. Once my younger two were in bed, my older two kids were trying to complete some of their homework. They were unable to do that at times because the wifi wasn't strong enough for them to connect to. On the positive side, every employee we encountered was very nice and pleasant. I feel confident that if we would have alerted them to the bug issue, they would have tried to change our room. However, I do not have the confidence it would have been any better. We did enjoy our stay, but it could have been better, which is why I said this resort is "average."
