"Decent Older hotel with recent updates- No onsite full service Restaurant"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5

Decent Older hotel with recent updates The Bad: They do not have an onsite restaurant- they do have a bar, but they may or may not serve paninis depending on the day (they didn't have anything at 6pm on fri evening) was told that their kitchen closed. The cafe is only open in the mornings. The neighbors that we had did have loud screaming children so it seems the walls might be a bit thin. Doors slam in the hallways if you are a light sleeper- be prepared to wake up thru the night. There is a huge pile of old furniture in the parking lot- I assume that it's just temporary thou we were there on a holiday weekend. They also have a per day parking fee that surprised us. The Good: The hotel lobby area is very pretty. The hotel staff was extremely pleasant. Check in and checkout was quick and efficient. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. It's very close to the park and there are a few restaurants in the business park very close by they also has a shuttle service that will take you and pick you up for a small fee. Overall, it's an ok choice- a little overpriced in my opinion but it's a decent place

"A Nightmare Hotel Stay: Unsafe, Unclean, and Unbelievable"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed November 12, 2024
Booked this hotel thinking it would be a relaxing getaway based on the appealing photos online, but the reality was a complete nightmare. The experience was so terrible that the best thing I can hope for at this point is a full refund. First, we were hit with ongoing construction on the third floor. The entire hallway was a hazardous mess, more like a war zone than a hotel. Boxes of nails were left exposed, empty beer cans scattered around (meaning the workers were drinking on the job), and an entire saw, though capped, sat just in the hallway. It was beyond unsafe. Our initial room was not only outdated but had an unidentifiable bug—something that looked like it had crawled in from the construction junk in the hall. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more hiding around. Then, as if things couldn’t get weirder, a housekeeper who only intended to bring a box of tissues wouldn’t stop knocking for a solid three minutes, even after we did not respond. I actually felt unsafe and alerted the front desk. To top it off, I overheard another guest mention fecal stains around their toilet and bathroom items. There is no way housekeeping could’ve missed that and still gave the room the green light. It was honestly disgusting. After we switched rooms, things did not improve. Our “balcony view” was a literal dumpster piled high with trash cans. I’d be angry if it weren’t so darkly poetic. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Also, don’t listen to the third party apps regarding what amenities are available. The parking is not free, the breakfast is not free, and the bars were not even open during my stay. The lobby was a ghost town.

"Not Impressed"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5
Reviewed October 18, 2024
Was not impressed with this hotel. First, it would not allow me to use the Hilton app to check-in. It stated to check-in when I arrived and they would try to upgrade me (Diamond member). Upon arriving, they had one person at the front desk and I was the fourth person in line (not sure why they only had one person checking people in). And, of course, no upgrade. We get our room key and head to our room. For some reason, there were towels laying in the hallway outside our room. Housekeeping was still cleaning rooms so I figured they would pick them up. Went out after a bit, housekeeping was gone but the towels still laying on the ground in the hallway. Went to get ice and the ice machine didn't work (3rd floor). Had to go to another floor and get ice. Also, can't say I've ever been in a hotel where duct tape was part of the decor (see pic). This was at the door and as you can see, the duct tape was coming off. As far as location, the hotel is super close to Busch Gardens but they hotel charges you for parking even though they have a huge parking lot (just money grabbing). A few place to eat nearby also. Overall, with the price I paid, I would hope a hotel would not use duct tape as part of their overall room decor. Next trip to Williamsburg, I'll be looking elsewhere.

"Great stay."
TripAdvisor user rating 5.0 out of 5
Reviewed October 18, 2024
My family and I visited Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA on Saturday, October 12. In preparation for this trip, I booked a condo via Airbnb and paid in full at the time of the booking (August 26). Unfortunately, the host, who was absolutely irresponsible, never gave us instructions on how to access the property, despite repeated attempts to contact him the day before we were to leave and the day of our arrival. Airbnb later tried to reach the host without success and, as a result, cancelled the reservation and reimbursed me. Since this was William and Mary's homecoming weekend, we were desperate to find two hotel rooms. As luck would have it, DoubleTree in Williamsburg had two rooms available and we booked them. The staff could not have been more accommodating. The service we received was impeccable and the rooms were immaculate. After a tense day, we were able to get a good night's rest. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone. Management understands the concept of excellent customer service! Thank you for such a comfortable stay!
