We were simply unlucky because the weather was not very good on the day we visited. It was raining and there were threats of lightning. So, the outside deck was closed down minutes before our scheduled visit, which was mid-day (around noon). We waited until the lightning chances were gone. By then, there was so much fog. So, we didn't get to see anything and the glass portion of the deck was blocked off because it was wet I acknowledge that none of that could be controlled. The not-so-cool part was that we had already paid for the tickets, which are pretty steep at $50 each. So, we went up a pretty cool elevator, sat around for a couple of hours looking out into the city, then, walked outside to see fog above, around, and below us. For the same amount of money, we went up the Skylon Tower at the Niagara Falls a week before and had a pretty substantial dinner...

This was a super experience. Stepping out onto the (l)edge was somewhat mind boggling, and then looking down through the glass panel to the ground below was fabulous. Whilst everyone of course gets the iconic pics on the protruding ledge, you can get 360degree views inside on other floors which were virtually empty of people. Best to go early in the morning as it was not too busy at 9:30am. When we left, we did a lovely walk down the Highline which gives great views back up to the Edge.
