First time New York City as we are catching a cruise and staying only one night at this hotel but wished we found something different. The hotel is a refurbished building of something but definitely not designed to be a Holiday Inn Express. Two old nasty elevators that only hold about six people and are very loud. Our room was situated next to the elevator but didn't expect to hear the elevator pulleys running 24/7 as if we were actually sleeping in the Elevator Shaft. Came downstairs to have breakfast the next morning and the fuse selections that were offered were completely wiped out. Even if there was food to eat all of the tables were filthy and you wouldn't want to sit at them to try to eat your food since nobody was maintaining the dining area. In other words the free breakfast is a joke. You might as well find something off property if you want something good to eat.

Good for a short business stay. My room was good, comfortable, very clean, quite large for a NY hotel. I was on the ground floor and it was quite noisy, but that doesn't bother me - made it closer to the free coffee machine. View was over a building site, but for a business trip that's no problem. Good desk and chair for working. Plenty of bars, restaurants etc in close walking distance. Other reviews say that the breakfast is overcrowded but that's just because tour groups come and stay in large numbers here, so when they breakfast, they all breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. So, good for a business trip, but not somewhere you'd bring your partner for a romantic week.

Found the location disappointing. Local area is dirty, full of rubbish, never-ending scaffolding and maintenance (right outside our window). We’ve visited Washington, Philadelphia and Boston and your hotel is by far the worst! It’s budget at best! Carpets in room 202 were filthy! Positives comfy bed, nice bathroom, ok breakfast.
