I recently stayed at this hotel during a short holiday in New York City in February 2026. While the location was ideal for sightseeing, my overall experience was quite disappointing. My room was located on the underground floor, which made it feel less than ideal. The lifts were painfully slow, causing unnecessary delays. The biggest issue was the room itself — it was freezing cold, and there was no heating available, making it uncomfortable to stay in. Unfortunately, this significantly impacted my stay. On the plus side, the hotel’s location is convenient.

The room was small with minimal space for luggage. Only 1 chair for a family of 4. The bed was comfortable (albeit a double, when a queen would’ve been better). The toilet ran constantly and the in room fridge was VERY noisy. The room had a bath, but the plug didn’t work, so it was useless. Even on the 9th floor we could hear lots of street noise almost every day around 4am. We were near the lift and definitely recommend requesting to stay away from the lift. Higher floors are better but be prepared to use the stairs because the lifts are very slow and crammed at certain times of the day. Breakfast was a joke. Seating was limited, choices were minimal (and we tried many times of the day and it was always the same). We ended up going around the corner to NASA cafe for breakfast to avoid the stress in the morning (highly recommend NASA cafe, btw). The lobby is so small that it was always packed with people which must be a fire hazard. The cleaner (Rocio) did a great job and my kids loved how their stuffies were lined up with care on their freshly made bed. We also had one kitchen staff help us locate some more almond milk. Otherwise, this was definitely not up to the normal Holiday Inn standards. I can’t say I would recommend staying in this holiday inn, nor would we return. The location was ok, but I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

They put me in a room that was underground and the window is blocked by a shed. I booked a king. They confirmed a king and then gave me two doubles. And the price was $400 a night. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Fine for a quick theater trip to the city. Breakfast and elevator situation were adequate only because it was an off night. It would be awful if the hotel were fully booked. I actually walked past the hotel because there is no external sign due to construction scaffolding and it just looked like an apartment lobby. Mini fridge in room was a plus.

Great Hotel in brilliant location. Walking distance to Times Square and most of the main sights. Room was small but had 2 comfy double beds, a lovely walk in shower in the bathroom and all toiletries were provided. Housekeeping came daily with clean towels and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a great choice however it was very busy and a bit manic but the staff provide trays so you can bring it back up to your room as the seating area is quite limited. We visited over new year and it was freezing but the rooms are lovely and warm with adjustable heating. The restaurant area is ideal for eating takeaways of an evening if you’re too tired to go out after a busy day and I would recommend downloading the door dash app for quick delivery. I even ordered a personalised birthday cake for my daughter which was delivered in 20 minutes! We would definitely return to this hotel as we didn’t really have any complaints. Yes it’s busy at breakfast, yes the rooms are a bit dated and yes the elevators are a bit slow but it’s in a great spot in the hustle and bustle of New York City so if that is all people can complain about then you’re never going to please them! If you’ve booked to stay then here you will have a great time and if you haven’t booked yet then don’t be put off by the negative reviews it really is a great place to stay.
