We've been to the Empire State Building, the Freedom Tower and the Top of the Roc and we really enjoyed The Edge this weekend. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor options. We enjoyed the views - at 4:30pm the sun was reflecting off the Hudson River and the view from sitting or standing on the outdoor steps without having to look through glass was very cool. The elevator ride up was quick - take your time to read the info before heading to the elevator on your way up. We didn't buy anything or eat at Hudson Yards but had a great stroll back to our hotel in midtown. We 10/10 recommend checking out the Edge.

Horrible Save your money! And go to the Summit or the rock! Edge only wants to take your money!!! February 20th, 2026 it was my birthday! And at around 4:30-5pm the lobby staff were very rude! Specially the female African American female at the front office, she didnt care at all and showed authoritism and the African american male who told me “its foggy upstairs and wait”. I waited and fogginess never clear. I wasnt informed that I couldnt rescheduled, customers paying for this expensive service should be well informed before heading upstairs, information on how things work should be clear. THE INFORMATION EDGE EMPLOYEES SHOULD TELL GUESTS THAT DAY SHOULD BE: VISIBILITY IS VERY POOR IT IS VERY FOGGY WOULD YOU LIKE TO RESCHEDULE OR GO UPSTAIRS? PLEASE BE ADVISED IF YOU GO UPSTAIRS YOU CANNOT RESCHEDULE GO UPSTAIRS AT YOUR OWN WILL. But instead the African american male told me “its foggy you can go upstairs and wait” that is literally the only thing I was told. I must ask Wait for what? Wait to be upset? Because I left that place very upset. I will never return! The next day i went to the SUMMIT VANDERBILT and that will the place i will recommend to friends and family, and online! The edge? I will forever say they only want your money! Not for you to have an experience. I paid near $200 to take the elevator and see nothing but fogginess! I will leave a bad review on google as well! The worst experience ever and it was on my birthday

A truly unique and amazing experience to feel like you are hanging over the edge of NYC! We visited first thing in the morning so it wasn't at all crowded. Therefore, the deck had a good atmosphere. This was the first place we visited on our first day - a great way to start our trip!

"Can We Get Down, Please?"

Bad experience. Waited almost an hour just for an elevator down, with nearly no communication from Edge staff about whatever “problem” was occurring. Someone in line finally shouted, “Would someone care to tell us what’s going on?” Finally got a fully loaded utility/freight elevator randomly down to the inside of some 5th Floor restaurant. Choose another Observatory in NYC other than the Edge.

"The Edge is Unique and Wonderful"

This is a great attraction that I highly recommend. My friends and I visited The Edge on a cold, windy day in late January-- and we loved it! We had almost no wait, thanks to the weather. We enjoyed the informative displays from the elevator to the door to the outside; these are well-designed and visitors who come during peak season will have more time to study them. There's a real thrill when you step through the door and onto the exterior platform. The wind was fierce but visitors are somewhat sheltered. The views are breathtaking. We could see clearly for miles. We were able to spend as much time as we wanted, taking photos and just looking out to the east, south, and north. You can climb a stairway designed to offer more views-- The Edge admission fees seem to change according to time of day, season, etc. Unless you want sunset views, plan your visit around prevailing weather conditions. Rain, snow, and fog can be beautiful, but you won't see as far. After our visit we walked on the High Line down to the Whitney Museum at Gansevoort and Hudson. It's a wonderful way to see this part of Chelsea that's much closer to the street. But we kept looking back and up at The Edge as we walked south-- and marveled that we had actually been out there!
