Description

from Antelope Canyon Day Tour - Phoenix
Explore the natural marvels of northern Arizona when you visit Antelope Canyon.

Learn about Navajo culture from a local Native American guide and check out the quaint desert cities of Flagstaff and Page. Your tour begins with a convenient pickup at your hotel and then heads through the Sonoran Desert toward the mountain city of Flagstaff, which rests just beneath the sacred San Francisco Peaks, the largest mountain range in Arizona. On your journey, you have a chance to stop at a Navajo trading post to learn about Navajo culture and see how their intricate crafts are made.

Your next stop is the spectacular Antelope Canyon, a slot canyon of deep red-rock chasms that were created by water erosion over thousands of years. Walk through the canyon with a local Navajo guide who presents the important history, culture, and geology of the region. Bask in the sunlight that filters down through the narrow cracks above as you wander through the narrow walkways that lie between the massive orange walls surrounding you.

Once you reemerge from Antelope Canyon, head to the shores of Lake Powell, a massive reservoir on the Colorado River that straddles the Utah border. If you’re feeling hungry, have no fear, as your next destination is the city of Page, where you'll enjoy a satisfying lunch at one of the local eateries. After lunch, embark on a scenic 1-mile hike to the Horseshoe Bend Overlook, which offers awe-inspiring views into a deeply carved channel where the Colorado River winds far below.
