What is Moulin Rouge Musical About?

This story of Paris, passion, and starving artists, kicks off with a bang as we are introduced to Christian, Toulouse Lautrec, Zidler, and Satine. Set during the Belle Epoque, Moulin Rouge centers around the romance between a struggling young composer Christian and the sparkling diamond of the Moulin Rouge, Satine.

Directed by Alex Timbers, the original Broadway cast included Karen Olivo taking over the role of Satine played by Nicole Kidman, and Aaron Tveit as Christian. Aaron Tveit and Danny Burnstein set the stage aflame with electrifying performances that earned them two Tony awards.
