Know Before You Go
As with any destination, there are a few bits of information you should know before you travel.
The Piers are Seasonal
2nd Avenue Pier and Pier 14 are both seasonal attractions. Typically, the piers are closed from late November to early March. Don’t forget that while in season, visitors are charged a $1 fee to access the pier. This fee goes toward pier upkeep and safety.
Do I Have to Pay to Go Fishing on the Piers?
Yes. At 2nd Avenue Pier, a daily fishing pass costs $9.00 while bait costs $6.00 plus tax per package. If you need to rent equipment, fishing rod rentals are available for a fee as well. Visitors do not need a fishing license, as the pier pays annually for one.
