Know Before You Go

As with any destination, there are a few bits of information you should know before you travel.

The Piers are Seasonal

2nd Avenue Pier and Pier 14 are both seasonal attractions. Typically, the piers are closed from late November to early March. Don’t forget that while in season, visitors are charged a $1 fee to access the pier. This fee goes toward pier upkeep and safety.

Do I Have to Pay to Go Fishing on the Piers?

Yes, there is a fishing fee at Grand Strand and Myrtle Beach Piers.  At 2nd Avenue Pier, a daily fishing pass costs $9.00, while bait costs $5.00 plus tax per package. While in Pier 14, the fishing pass is $7.00, and the bait costs $6.00.

If you need to rent equipment, fishing rod rentals are also available for a fee. Visitors do not need a fishing license, as the pier pays annually for one.

Parking Lots

Those who plan to drive to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk can use one of the many public and private parking lots available. Some parking areas allow guests to pay by phone using the Parkmobile app. Note that both public and private parking lots charge an hourly fee.
