"Just ok"

I was kind of disappointed at the room for how much we paid. We upgraded to a balcony room with a view to the fireworks at Epcott. Room was outdated and smelled musty. It wasn't worth the extra money.

"No Disney Resort"

We have wanted to try out the Dolphin hotel for a while and on our latest trip an unexpected snow storm back home gave us that opportunity. Lets start with the positives. The location is great being between Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You can easily walk or take a boat to both parks. It is also by the Boardwalk resort so shopping and eating options are great. The view is also great and we could see the Epcot fireworks from our room. Disney resort buses run to and from the hotel and self parking a car is free. Now the bad. There is a huge bar in the main lobby that you have to walk by to get to the elevators. It is very load with and being a bar environment we heard plenty of flowery language. The Magical Express bus does not pickup or drop off at the Swan or Dolphin. There is no airport check in at either hotel and the magic bands will not open your door. The layout of the hotel is very confusing and our room was at the end of a long hallway with no access to more continent exits than those in the main building. The room was okay but on the small side and the layout of the beds puts one bed right up against the wall. There was water damage on the walls and the carpet was dated. There is a mandatory $30 resort fee that gets you 4 bottles of water. No microwaves or toaster in the rooms. This hotel is priced between the Disney deluxe and moderate resorts so I expected the hotel to be pretty spectacular, however I was extremely underwhelmed. Very few Disney perks even though the hotel is located on Disney property. Dingy long dark hallways. I know that people like the Swan and Dolphin. I am not saying to run from this hotel, but for the price I would rather stay at a moderate Disney hotel. There are perks like location that I can see making this hotel attractive, it just wasn't for me and my family.

We just finished a 3 night stay at the Dolphin and couldn't have been more pleased. I was a little nervous after having read some of the reviews online, but we were absolutely delighted with the hotel. A beautiful room for the price, especially given its location between Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot. We are walkers and loved the opportunity to walk to both parks, as well as all around the Disney Boardwalk. All staff we encountered during our stay couldn't have been more helpful. We were fortunate to have been upgraded to a king room with a gorgeous view overlooking the walkway between the Swan and Dolphin hotels. Wonderful! While we would have to agree that the hotel needs updated carpet in the hallways, and the shower/toilet portion of the bathroom is cramped, the room itself was very lovely and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Even though we had never stayed here before, we have previously dined several times at one of their restaurants, Shula's. Our meals were always top notch and service was impeccable. We have also previously dined at Il Mulino, a short walk to the Swan hotel. Again, an outstanding restaurant. We were disappointed we did not have time to dine there again, however, we did manage to have cocktails at the bar. Very nice. An excellent dirty martini. Overall, the Dolphin hotel was an excellent accommodation right in the heart of Disney at prices that are less than the Disney resorts in the Boardwalk area. Look forward to staying here again.

I'm sorry to say we were truly unimpressed with this hotel. It hasn't been maintained well enough to be called a category 6 hotel. The hallway carpets are so worn that the pattern is gone and the hallways smell dirty. The huge shell fountains attached to the front of the building don't work and are rusted and ugly. The room drapes are old, they have no microwaves and the layout of the hotel is confusing. The outdoor pool is NOT heated though they say it is. The waterslide at the pool is closed. The bellmen who bring up luggage are friendly but it takes hours to get your luggage. The restaurants and markets offer plenty of food but it is outrageously priced. The $35 per day "resort fee" is nothing but thievery because you get absolutely NOTHING for it. If you're going to Universal Studios and don't have a car it will cost you about $35 per person to get a ride there to/from (20 minutes away). You can't get/use a magic band because Dolphin and Swan are Marriott and not owned by Disney. If you are not a Bonvoy elite member your room will be crap and located near the loud ice machines or the elevators so it's noisy night and day. The only positives I have for this hotel is that the staff are friendly, the housekeepers are there all day and not just the mornings, and the boat rides to Epcot and Hollywood Studios were easy and convenient. Would not recommend this hotel, sorry.

"Fantastic Location Between Epcot and Hollywood Studios!"

Great location for this resort with continuous convenient boat transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Epcot is an easy walk as well. You can simply cross the bridge and you're in the middle of Disney's Boardwalk, Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts with their numerous restaurants and stores. For such a large resort the Dolphin is very welcoming and comfortable. The rooms are very spacious with large windows, foyer, bath with huge shower, efficiency bar with coffee/tea maker and bar fridge. Their is a good spa with experienced technicians and numerous restaurants from 2-star quick service to 5-star! The reataurant called 'Fresh' serves a fantastic buffet breakfast which we enjoyed daily. Their are two pools; a lap pool and wonderful huge freeform pool with sandy beach and hot tubs. Their is also a lovely shop with unique stylish clothes for men and women. This was probably our 6th stay (always during New Year's) and our first stay since the resort changed from SPG to Marriott Bonvoy. This was the first time we were not awarded the type of upgrade we requested which suprised us since we are Lifetime Titanium members. We enjoy this hotel but this fact disapointed us very much as these requests were always honoured by SPG without question.

This is the fourth time we’ve stayed at the Dolphin. We love its proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, so convenient to get to. The cost is fairly reasonable for the area, and the rooms are just fine. The restaurants are good, although they are a bit pricey.
