We loved our visit to the USS Midway. I mean, where else can you actually get on a battleship. My love and pride for our military went up a few notches after seeing it. It’s close to Seaport Village so you can do both.

"Well organized, well put together"
April 2019
We thought we would only need a few hours, but we were the first on the ship and we stayed all day. Take the little speaker thing they give you when you first walk in. They did a really nice job of making small pieces of information come to life with first hand experiences of the men who lived it. Also sit and listen to the guys in the yellow hats. So informative and interesting. The movie was better than expected.

Tip: go to the tour of "the Island" first. go through all the small parts of the ship -- so much to see.

"No seasickness here!"
December 2018
We prebought our tickets and moved right along. For as long as the lines were, there was plenty of room to pause and take pictures. Seeing the demonstrations at top deck was very informative. The kids enjoyed sitting in the planes and helicopters. Walking thru the gully’s to see sleeping quarters, kitchen and laundry was great. Would return again.

My husband and I (51 and 53 yrs old) had a great time. Experience over 60 exhibits throughout the historic aircraft carrier as well as 29 restored aircraft and take part in Family-oriented activities for all ages! Many of the museum pieces allow touch and try. Perfect for kids of all ages. There are retired military onboard as docents to answer any and all questions. There are MANY STAIRS. There are elevators but much walking. Narrow hallways won’t accommodate wheelchairs. Since we had the Old Town trolley pass, we received $2 off. Two adults came to $42. However, if you’re retired military or active military, you’re gifted this museum for free.

"Very Impressive. Best attraction to me in San Diego"

The ship is immense! A great way to see how our fighting men and women live aboard ship. The tour gives you a great insight into how great America is and the ingenuity it takes to operate this ship. The "Yellow Hats" as they are called are very knowledgable and many served aboard this ship so they have first hand experience. Every type of plane that flew off it's desk is on the deck to see. Simulators are available to fly combat missions at a reasonable price. There is a place to get a light lunch or a drink and restrooms.
