"What are they doing to their employees?"

The customer service of the evening shift employees may be the worst I’ve ever experienced in all of my travels. Over the course of my 2 night stay, the hotel made a myriad of mistakes (ie hidden parking fees, locking us out of our room on the 9th floor, tissue-paper thin bedsheets (no comforter), a broken microwave + burnt out lighting fixtures, virus-loaded WiFi, the unlockable balcony door, and so, so much more). Did the employees offer a grain of hospitality amidst this torrent of dilapidation and oversight? Not a grain. In fact, I felt guilty for being there every time I had the misfortune of passing through the lobby and receiving their slow-blinking, zombie-like glares of derision (despite exchanging only a handful of “thank you”s and “I appreciate it”s in totality). Never have I paid hundreds of dollars to feel like such a burden. Upon returning home from “vacation” I felt only stupidity for having been duped with a cheap, “good” time. If anyone does choose to stay at Myrtle Beach for their vacation, don’t make the mistake I did. Pay the extra $100, $200, even $300 a night if you’re able and go someplace where you have a fractional chance of feeling wanted. If you’re unable to pay for somewhere nicer, just find lots of things to do outside of this cold, liminal, depressing hotel. — And don’t forget to bring your own room keys, comforter, balcony lock, microwave, lightbulbs, VPN, and love for life, because I promise you: you won’t find these items at Sun N Sand.

The place needs a good cleaning. The carpets in the hallways were nasty dirty. The room was set up so there may have been 12 inches between the end of the bed and counter top of the stove. There is no way someone with a walker or wheelchair could have used this room. You could not use the balcony for longer than a few minutes without having to go back inside to get away from the strong smell of others smoking Marijuana. And then if you go inside and have the ac fan on it filled the room with the smell. I was shocked these room are owned by individuals. I would be upset to see what it looks like if I were an owner here. I am sure they pay HAO fees to provide it's upkeep. We paid online but upon arrival we were charged an additional $15 per night resort fee and a $10 per night parking fee. This should have been included in to the original price we were quoted. We would never stay there again.

"NEVER AGAIN!!!"

This place was awful. Checked in and got to the room to immediately see roaches crawling up the wall and on the floor. Left the room to let the desk know of the roach problem, only to step off the elevator to see even more roaches crawling around in front of the elevator door. This place has changed employees, and not in a positive way. I've stayed here numerous times, and this was definitely the last attempt to do so. Decided to take the stairs to the car, and the staircase was full of trash, old food and drink spills and an awful smell. Completely disgusting, to say the least!!!
