    "Strong urine odor"

3 bedroom, oceanfront, fully equipped kitchen was beautiful. The only ISSUE was the strong, urine odor in the carpet in bedroom 1036 which had the oceanfront view. I brought extra cleaning solutions as we had our in laws with us. We used all of our products plus brought more. The hotel staff suggested the following on night one: 1. Someone could come up and Reclean the Carpet that was supposedly done earlier. 2. We could pack up all our things on day two and move to a similar room type once they cleaned it. (We has been out with the in-laws and had some supper to cook once we returned to the room. The elderly was not feeling the move). 3. Someone could come and steam the room. They did do that. The smell was noticeable again after about 2-3 hours. I used my own cleaning solutions to masquerade us through our stay. When my hubby mentioned some type of discount, nothing was said. Prior to this stay, our stays have been marvelous with no complaints. This has been the first rotten egg. The room was amazing outside of the urine smell. Would love to see all carpet removed.

    "Pleasantly Suprised!"

We have a go to place that we stay every year, this same week, but on a bit tighter budget this year we decided to look around. Booked a 3 bedroom ocean front with wrap around balcony, corner unit. Room 1235. Front desk assured us this was one of the nicer units. As we walked in, comparing it to Forest Dunes because that's our standard, the room seemed a bit dated regarding paint colors, drapes, living room furniture(worn and stained) BUT spacious and very clean! I can deal with dated if the room is clean and comfortable. Immediately had to call the desk over several little things that were obviously missed. 2 light bulbs missing in 2 separate lamps, no batteries in remotes, a bedroom doorknob about to fall off.......simple fixes. Maintenance was attentive, fast and professional. Issues were fixed promptly and with a smile. That night we discovered that the thermostat is locked and won't go lower than 68 degrees, it was unbearably hot in the master bedroom while the rest of the condo was comfortable. We barely slept. Called in the morning and the desk put in a request to have it looked at. About an hour later, no one had come and we went out for several hours. Upon arriving back, we were assured it was fixed, only to find the thermostat still locked at 68 and nothing else done. No air coming through that vent. The desk was very accommodating and offered us 2 different rooms to go look at to switch. We choose right next door, 1236. MUCH nicer room, updated and beautiful! And bonus, this thermostat isn't locked. Lol. I will say, while the beds and towels appeared to be clean and changed, the floors hadn't been cleaned and were gritty, food was left in the kitchen cabinets and grocery bags left in the kitchen. The previous room had a water bottle left under the edge of the bed in plain site. BUT both rooms smelled very clean and faintly like bleach, so I think they are possibly spending more time sanitizing and less time over the details. As for the kitchen, if you cook much at all on vacation then you'll need your own supplies. This unit has very basic essentials, only one pan, no bakeware of any kind, no measuring cups/spoons, no oven mitts, one towel and one washcloth. The furniture in this room is exactly the same as 1235 only newer. Beds are very firm but supportive. Not cheap and thin. We would definitely return, and the front desk employees were a large part of my perception of the condo. They were friendly and attentive and checked on us numerous times. Pools and hot tubs were clean and comfortable. Lots of options between the 7th floor pools/hot tubs and ground floor indoor and outdoor. I like the atmosphere at Forest Dunes better, simply because it's smaller and more homey, less like a hotel, but this place is very quiet as well, comfortable, 3 elevators which are fast and everything is easy to access.

We needed a place to stay for a night and found a room with enough space for us and not outrageous prices. Very friendly and helpful staff. Decent place to stay for sure. Right on the ocean, beautiful views from the balcony.

Have been here before and was glad to see they still have smoking room available but playing with the site it looks to be down to only a few which is disappointing. The shoreline cafe is still a great place to go for a quick bite and the staff are all friendly. Sister property Avista looks to have more room choices for smokers and booked my October trip there.
