San Diego’s Italian quarter has grown in popularity for not just Italian fare, but also for the rich array of local restaurant hot-spots that have opened up in the last 10 years, or so. In addition to the traditional pasta and pizza dishes, Little Italy offers up top chef cuisine, vegan breakfasts, juicy burgers, and lounges for dancing and fine cocktails! The possibilities to whet your palate are endless. This tour will have you savoring iconic bites while you get an understanding about the history and current vibe of the neighborhood with one of our professional and personable guides.

Where to meet:
The tour meets at the fountain at La Piazza della Famiglia. 523 W Date St. San Diego, CA 92101

MANGIA!
Taste a combination of Italian flavors and unique bites from 4 restaurants that represent the area.

Sorrento Ristorante and Pizzeria
A lively and easy-going Italian restaurant that transports you to the piazzas of Napoli. The family-owned restaurant is known for its traditional dishes, iconic pizzas, and house-made pastas. You will taste their Parpadelle Bolgnese and calamari, which will both satisfy any craving for an authentic Italian meal. Pair this with a choice of red or white Italian wine.

Queenstown Public House
A New Zealand inspired restaurant with whimsical decor and known for its brunch, grass-fed burgers, a rotating selection of local beer selections, and unique sangrias. You’ll taste one of their Little Bitties – a grass-fed slider with onion mayo, cheddar and sweet relish paired with a taster of a local beer or sangria.

Landini’s Pizzeria
This pizzeria is a local staple for a pizza-by-the-slice option for those who want a quick snack or a to-go option. Their New York style pizza is thin, crispy, and sourced with quality ingredients. Guests get their pick at the slice that looks most appealing to them, but we highly recommend La Piccante with jalapeños, ricotta, pineapple, and pepperoni or the Rustica with Brussel sprouts, pancetta, and balsamic glaze.

Pappalecco
As one of the first traditional Italian bistros, this establishment offers house-made gelato, Italian coffee, and on-the-go paninis and breakfast. Guests will get a choice of gelato flavors.
