This is a beautiful and convenient location for attending conferences at the convention center or a Padres game. A helpful staff seems engaged in making stays comfortable. Facilities are lovely and clean. However, be prepared for extra expenses to be on the extremely high side for an in house market plus each purchase has added 5% surcharge even for basic items. If I had been aware of all of the extra fees and surcharges that are automatically added for everything from a CAN of soda (already priced at $5 before fees) I would have made a prior stop at a convenience store to stock up before checking in. A quick refrigerator sandwich is $17 and up. A candy bar or muffin is $9. Just as an FYI for those who need to know about unexpected expenses. Convenience is definitely highly priced and surcharged here in line with what you typically find at Ritz Carlton resorts. Starbucks is located on the bottom floor with regular prices. The Seaport Village is less than half a mile walk away where you can grab coffee and a few items that are a bit cheaper.

Check in was not impressing. The gal was efficient getting my room and key cards but told me nothing about where the elevators were or how the cards work in the elevators. I had to go to guest services after trying the elevators and William was very professional and helpful! Just a tip: not everyone is a seasoned traveler, need to let people know how to get to their room. Beautiful hotel and great accommodations though! Staff members are courteous and helpful.
