The pirate dinner adventure was so much fun! Our family of 5 enjoyed the Christmas show! We cheered on the yellow pirate! Get there early they have some appetizers that come around, as more people arrive you see the swarm of people that ambush the poor servers. During the pre show each pirate is introduced and they lead each group to their seats! As the show is going on you are served a three course dinner adults, salad soaked in ranch or tomato soup, chicken, shrimp, mashed potatoes and vegetables. The kids got a cheeseburger slider, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese and melon. Everyone gets chocolate cake for dessert. The show it’s self is cute and cheesy.

We were invited here as part of my wife's company Xmas show/luncheon event. It was nice for her company to charter the whole place for such large number of employees and their families. However food was worst than cafeteria standard. The chicken was half a game hen with 3 small shrimps on a skewer. The meal arrived cold. The show was mediocre and probably targeted for children under 12. Worst corporate Xmas event I've ever been to.

Action packed from beginning to end. Lots of opportunities for audience participation. Great for kids of all ages. Great for couples, families or larger groups. We had 50 in our group and we had a blast. Very easy to set up for our large group through the sales representative we worked with. Can't thank her enough!!

I'll start by saying we were a party of 2 adults and 1 child (11 years old). We paid a total of $238.35 which included 3x Captain's seat upgrade and 3x Jolly Pirate Package. We felt ... worth EVERY dollar! OK ... the food was average, but totally acceptable. Having been, a few years back, to a themed dinner experience in Florida, we knew what sort of food to expect and we weren't disappointed at all. If you're expecting fine dining, this isn't for you... but if you're happy with reasonable food produced en masse it's totally fine. We didn't feel it was necessary to arrive so early but can understand that they have a lot of people to process tickets for on entry ... so if everyone turns up at the last minute I assume the show would have to start late. So, pre-dinner nibbles (I liked the cruditees and dip) are served and there's plenty to browse in the shop...so the wait was fine. Now ... down to the ambience and the show. This is what you're paying for and it is EXCELLENT!! The staging itself is phenomenal ... really, really clever. The actors? Well I hope to see them all on the big screen at some point - they were great and really got the diners behind them. We were on the "Orange Pirate's" team (GO! GO! Orange Pirate!), obviously the best pirate ... actually they were all brilliant and Purple was very funny. They ask for audience participation, which for the majority was just whooping it up for "your" pirate, or joining in clapping and singing. However, as another reviewer pointed out, we never felt pressured to join in (my shrieking was all entirely voluntary". My son was recruited by the Orange Pirate to become a trainee pirate up on the stage (with a bunch of other young trainee pirates). They had to copy the actions of another "naughty" pirate who was taking the mickey out of the captain behind his back. Our son LOVED this and remained in full pirate mode for a whole two days...we finally had to prise his pirate bandana off him for a wash! Some other adult diners were recruited for particular tasks, but they all appeared happy and willing victims! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this show, and if I'm ever back in the area I'd love to visit again. p.s. We were staying just up the road at Knotts Berry, so we walked to the show. A very pleasant 5-10 minute walk in the warm California evening, watching the sights and the lights as we walked. p.p.s. A suggestion for the website. It may be my eyesight but I couldn't find any details of the actors who play the pirates. I'd love to keep my eyes open for any career development for these guys, but wouldn't know who played who in the show?

Today we visited the Pirates Dinner Adventure, the show is no Shakespeare but is a typical cheesy cabaret show. Lots of fun laughter and participation. Must admit it was a good laugh and even my 17yr old who was not amused I dragged him there enjoyed. Pros The show - the staff has you participating as much as possible. Joining in songs, clapping cheering, games. The staff didn’t pressure anyone to take part but asked politely and took your first answer. The children got to participate as much as the adults. Cons Alcoholic drinks - you have to buy a souvenir glass if you want beer on draft or a cocktail . The smallest defat glass was 20oz $17 with a full drink then $5 per top up. Cocktails $19 and then top up was $7 Bottles lager/beer was $6 Cheapest bottle of wine $24 Soft drinks - again you have to purchase a souvenir plastic cup at $5 but then you had unlimited refills. - only problem once you went into the show no one offers you a refill !!! I bought 3 cups for my children and luckily 2 of them had a refill before they went in. - not great service! Food Appetisers - in extreme short supply as they kept taking the trays to the same tables first so you were lucky to get anything left. Appetisers were BBQ Smokeys, sweetcorn balls, a small slice of bread with either cheese and ham or cheese and turkey, carrot and celery sticks and raw broccoli with a sauce. Starter Salad - there was a massive bowl of already prepared salad put behind on some empty seats then it was thrown on a plate of someone wanted it. Didn’t look good at all. Soup - was supposed to be tomato and veg. Basically it was a thin tomato broth with a little bit of shredded veg in it. Extremely salty but nothing a bit of black pepper didn’t cure. This by far was the nicest part of the meal. Main - chicken leg/thigh on the bone with zucchini, carrots and mash potato. Extremely weird combination. No taste at all to the zucchini or carrots. The mash was nice but tasted a little weird when you got the odd lump of potato skin in the middle of a mouth full. Chicken was quite juicy (I seriously do not like meat on the bone so didn’t eat much of it but that’s my personal preference). I think the shrimp skewer in the side was the biggest put off. It was seriously strong smelling which made me worry how fresh it was and I couldn’t even give it away to my son who adores shrimp. Desert - chocolate Brownie with raspberry sauce drizzled on it. Mine wasn’t very nice tasting at all, but my son enjoyed his and wouldn’t eat mine as he said it was completely different taste to his. Would I go again? No. 100% not Would I recommend anyone to go? No I had our tickets on a special at $35 a ticket plus taxes and I can only say 1 good thing and trust me the show was good but not that good. Not good value for money at all. The venue was 3/4 empty and the reason is probably the food and cost. Might be worth offering a special where you can attend just the show at a decent rate.
