Our guide was a little hard to understand, but he did interact with the group while 'telling his stories'. We got demonstrations of the corn shucker, the coffee mill, and history on some of the items that were sold from the store. He even gave us a 'penny' candy cane. He then turned us over to another docent (both in period dress) to explain about the warehouse and how many items it held. From hand cranked washing machines, to hi- riding bicycles to a number of other items, it was interesting and informative. So much progress from then to now.

"Miss Minnie" the shopkeeper was rude. She simply recited her script, told her stale jokes over and over and pushed us through to Guy. He was much more personable, but again, we felt rushed. There were just the two of us and there was SO MUCH to see! I felt the price was high since we were rushed through; if we had been able to actually take it all in, the admission price would have been worth it.

Talk about interesting! There were so many items here, I would have loved to hear about more of them...and it seemed like others in our group felt the same. When the tour was over, we really didn't want to leave. The guide was funny and informative. It was incredible seeing these inventions of the times.

The Oldest store is located in the Old Town Trolley center, just across from the Oldest Jail. Again, there is the "store manager" giving you the tour of the store, where you can get just about anything and they will have it for you in 2 weeks. A very enjoyable tour, which includes the massive warehouse where everything is stored.
