In an effort to be as clear as possible both good and bad, let me outline the pros and cons. Pros Rollercoasters First aide staff Lifeguards Friendly park workers Flume ride Ample bathrooms Free water refill hydration stations Cashless pay Food options Cons Poor signage Closing water park and select rides hour early without updating calendar for private annual event and still charging same price for tickets. Management at guest relations indifferent as my 10 year old said “lacks respect for us” Management telling us that the private event “paid a lot of money” when concerns about a hard close more than 2 hours before park closure occurred without warning. Parking $28 with fees on top of admission cost Rides being “hard closed” at 3:55pm and those waiting in line suddenly turned away even people who had been waiting >30 minutes when posted signs say “closing early for private event 5pm” and park closes at 6pm Closing water park at 5pm when posted time is 6pm on >90 deg day and charging same price No cash Admission ticket including meal states comes with things that are unavailable when you attempt to redeem Waterpark pools closed >4 times for poop in previous visit not this one Water park lines consistently slow and long >1 hour Waterslides not open limiting ride options Having visited this park multiple times this is what we conclude. They booked a private event which come to find out is an annual event “Jewish night” so the park knows ahead of time and chooses not to update their time calendar of opening hours and charges the same price for tickets to the public. In this day and age websites are easily updated and this seems disrespectful to patrons but as we were told they “paid a lot of money.” The hours for the day were 11-6 for both water and regular park but on arrival all signs said water park and Thunder Rapids would be closing at 5pm instead. They cleared Thunder Rapids at 3:55 and literally told everyone who had been waiting too bad Management said so. The response from “Management” was corporate said so and they gave us 2 expired speed passes for one ride because we complained about the hard close with no notice (contradicting their sign posted for 5pm) as we were set to board. It was so dismissive that my 10 year old was upset saying “they don't respect us.” I completely agree. This park seems to have gone the way of corporate greed and is no longer the family friendly place it once was. Some great rides but there are places that value their patrons and respect them far better without poop in the pool.

"Don't do it! You don't get what you pay dearly for, shameful, greedy, poorly managed, poorly run"

Don't waste your hard earned money thinking this is gonna be a great day our with you with you grandkids, think again. For the prices of of admission, extra $27 pay for parking, and then $16 greasy burgers and chicken...and don't get me started on the price on the all day drink cups $18 after taxes. 1. Waiting to get into the park in our car was atrocious over an hour and half in the hot sun. The parking lanes fanned out to eight entrances but nothing was moving at all. Then the parking attendants were young teens and half the time not even paying attention to what they were doing. 2. Long hot walk to entrance, entrance moved along ok but that was the only place we saw any security staff. 3. We buy our unlimited drinking cups for $18....they should be called lucky if you get one drink and some ice cups. Every time we went up to one of these stations, they were either out of soda and ice or only had water coming out of them, we also witnessed other people having the same issue with kids in tow, how frustrating. If you want something to eat plan on standing in the hot sun for about an hour to get anything, you would think at least there would be some kind of canopies over the line to protect the visitors from sun stroke at least, and all of it is greasy and heavy on your stomach. 3. The teenagers running these rides looked like they didn't even want to be there and we're going about there jobs as slowly as possible, and not always filling up all the seats which delayed wanna be ride goers even further. 4. In the whole day we're were there we didn't get on many rides for having to wait in such long lines with rides being run by teens who could care less. I was able to ride three, our daughter and grand daughter did 2 and my husband only once!. I nearly went into heat stroke for the lake of any drinks for our "unlimited" cups. 5. I needed to use the restroom so I went to the one where the dressing rooms are for the water park....and guess what???? Long line there too! So I'm waiting and waiting and finally one woman came out and said I'd you need a toilet there around the back of the dressing room stalls! I had no idea, nothing was marked, so when she said that me and about 4 other ladies bailed out of the line to go further in the get to the toilets. It was terribly hot inside there, again almost passed out due to lack of hydration. Since my husband was waiting for me he didn't get to go on another ride so he told our daughter and granddaughter to go get in line for the raft ride. I didn't feel good by this point so my husband and I sat on a beach chair so I could catch my breath and try to feel better and wait for our kids return.....well ...they ended up being in line for over one hour too ride a 2 minute ride....they told us many of the rafts were only going with a couple of people in them instead of being filled up......and guess what? The parks gonna be closing soon. So in my opinion the only people having real fun are the new owners who are just raking in the money but not providing the services, it's all about the money. So I think the lack of refillable drinks, long lines, and poor food choices are a real red flag for not taking your family here when you are on a budget....also this is a smaller more family friendly park that they should limit the attendance to per day, this isn't no six flags or anything. We have had much more fun at amusement parks that were way bigger perhaps because the were being managed properly. I think it does really trickle down to that, it's being managed poorly and it also reflects on there employees who looked like they could of cared less. We were so looking forward to a wonderful day with our granddaughter, but it was not to be. Please here my advise, as this place used to be alright, but our recent experience was utterly horrible and we feel completely ripped off!

"Day at lake compounce"

We have been going to this water park for a few years now, and this year was disappointing. You can buy one day ticket with discount, but you will still need to pay parking fee and more money for meal. Cheapest ticket attracts more people and therefore the place is more crowded. Longer lines to get food, go on rides. Not to mention NO LOCKERS available!!! Now were going to talk about the service. When we entered the buffet, the floors were so messy and dirty, the sitting area was not cleaned (tables with leftovers, stained and sticky). The staff the serve the food move slow and we waited for over an hour just to get our food. As much as we love the rides, after 6pm the area is so packed. Also, allowing people to smoke inside the park makes this place less attractive.

"Lack luster, frustrating experience"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5

My husband and I brought our kids (10 year old and 8 month old) to Lake Compounce this weekend and it was sadly disappointing. To start, we waited just over an hour to actually get into the parking lot, even with prepaid parking. There was no one directing traffic to get into the lot, but there were 10 people showing us where to park our car in the parking lot once getting through the gate to pay for parking. The parking gate was incredibly unorganized, with 8 lanes merging into one immediately after paying, with other park goers driving all over the place trying to merge into a tiny, one car lane. It took us an hour to drive one mile, and we were planning to get there for park opening at 10am. After parking we got through security and the admission gate relatively quickly (we're frequent Disney World travelers, so this was still slower than that comparatively, but we're used to it). The staff were all very nice. My husband and 10yo were able to get on a few rides within the first hour of being there, which was great. Before going to the park, I had emailed Customer Service to see what rides (if any) our 8 month old could go on. I was told she could go on the Zoomer's Gas N Go cars as long as she was accompanied by an adult of course. We waited in line, only to get to the front and have the attendant tell us she could not ride, as she was considered a "lap infant." That was very frustrating, as we were all excited for her to enjoy her first ride after Customer Service specifically told us she could ride that ride. We had bought a meal plan with our tickets, which came with an entree, side, drink, and cookie, so we stopped to get lunch at Timberjacks. The food was good - 10yo got a cheeseburger and fries and my husband and I split some chicken fingers which were all very good. They were out of cookies so they offered chips instead. Side note - Fair warning to anyone bringing a kid to the park that is still in diapers.....the changing tables in three of the bathrooms I went into is RIGHT at the sink, not in a stall. If there are people washing their hands at the sink, you cannot use the changing table. I had to bring the stroller into the large stall and change the baby in the stroller. Next we headed over to the waterpark. The changing rooms could be improved; they're small and have nowhere for you to put your things. Just stand there and change while trying to hold the clothes you're not wearing. All of the rides had a wait of at least 40 minutes, with most being an hour or more. We waited in line for the wave pool for about 20 minutes. The baby was napping in the stroller, so we had planned to change her into her bathing suit after getting through the line, but once we got to the front they told us she had to have her life jacket on before entering the area, so we quickly changed her in the stroller. Not super convenient but also not a big deal, we understood the liability of it. The kids loved the pool - we spent about an hour there. Because of the long lines we were not able to enjoy any of the waterslides, though. There was one family bathroom which was occupied, so I had to change her in the crowded waterpark bathroom. Luckily there was a bathroom attendant who saw me walking in, and she cleaned off the changing pad and made sure it was clear for me to use. That was excellent service! We all changed, got some Dippin Dots ice cream, and went on a couple more rides. We decided to grab a quick slice of pizza, and ended up waiting in line for 35 minutes, with only 8 people in front of us when we joined the line. My husband waited for the pizza while I left to wait in another line for fries. The line for fries at Wildcat Burger did not move for 40 minutes. My husband ended up bringing the pizza to me to eat in line, and after an hour of waiting with no movement, I left. The lines for food were HORRIBLE. There's no reason anyone should wait 35 minutes for one slice of pizza, and another HOUR for fries, when both lines had no more than 10 people in them. We were able to get on one more ride before leaving the park just before close, which was the Pirate Ship. I went on it with the 10yo, and while waiting in line the ride attendant swore multiple times, saying the F word TWICE with many small kids in line. This is absolutely unacceptable at a family park. The 10yo even commented saying "I don't know why people have to swear so much." We very very rarely swear around our kids; I do not appreciate employees swearing around my children at a family amusement park. The kids had a good day, and we did have fun with them and learned some tricks for the 8 month old's birthday trip planned for Disney later this year. However, we also learned that we will not be returning to Lake Compounce anytime soon, if at all. It was a frustrating experience that was not worth the money we spent.

We went for opening weekend to experience the re-tracked Boulderdash and get in a nice day prior to the busy season. Several things have changed in the last couple of years, including things like Food & Beverage options, so be sure to keep an eye out for new things, and don't necessarily expect old favorites.
