Description

from Hoover Dam “VIP” Tour
Located in Black Canyon on the Colorado River, the Hoover Dam is the highest structure of its kind in the world. It is an outstanding achievement, noteworthy not only for its enormous dimensions, complex design and intricate construction, but also for it's illustration of man's outstanding ability to overcome the desert's summer sun, the vagaries of a treacherous river, and the extreme hazards of great heights on the chasm's sheer walls.

This tour includes the Visitor Center and Historical Displays, views from the “interior” base of the dam into the Generator Room, the fascinating Hoover Dam Movie, with ample time for breathtaking views from the Top of the Dam, Lake Mead, the world's largest man-made lake, the eastern edge of the chasm in Arizona where you have fabulous views of the dam including Lake Mead. In addition, there are wonderful photo ops of the new Hoover Dam Bridge. Before returning to Las Vegas we stop at a local park where herds of Big Horn Sheep often come down from the surrounding mountains to gather and graze on the sweet grass.

Tour Includes: Unlimited Bottled Water & Snacks.

Tour Times: Pick Up 12 PM to 5:30 PM

We had Barry as our guide for the day. He was early picking us up (which we love because we're usually early) and he quickly learned everyone's names and used them during his commentary along the way. The tour took us to the Hoover Dam, along Lake Mead, across the Dam and back, to and over the "new" bridge. Then we traveled thru a forest of Joshua Trees to the Indian reservation where we went to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. The tour included a bag continental breakfast, bottled water, and a lunch voucher to be used at one of 3 locations on the West Rim. We were returned to our respective hotels in Vegas after about 10 hours. Very good, enjoyable. My husband loved not having to drive.

I booked a Small-Group Hoover Dam VIP Tour through Viator. They selected the Adventure Photo Tours limo service to transport us from our hotel in Las Vegas, the Aria, to and from Hoover Dam. From the minute Linda pulled into the tour pick-up area, she took excellent care of us. She was so knowledgeable about the area and the dam even though she had only lived in the area a short time. She was a careful driver and made extra stops for us just because she knew about them. I would recommend Adventure Photo Tours.

"Small Group Hollywood and Los Angeles Tour"

We had a great time with Adventure Photo Tours. Our guides Bob and Clayton were excellent and made the 4 hour ride to LA and back a pleasure. We were driven in a nice Mercedes Benz vehicle (about 12 people) through the Mojave Desert. First stop was the Santa Monica Pier and then on to LA and Hollywood to see the Hollywood sign, walk of fame, Chinese theater, Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive. The tour included a nice continental breakfast, boxed lunch and snacks and bottled water. Pick up and drop off is at your hotel of choice. It's a wonderful full day and a nice chance to see the California sites for a reasonable price.

"Nature and Nurture"

Nature was absolutely awesome. 100% !!! The tour guide nurtured and did a good job of feeding interesting information to my wife, two other guests that we met on the trip and I. However I can not understand why four (4) adult patrons had to travel in a SUV that left two passengers cramped and contorted in the rear seat for an all day trip. It’s obvious that APT sacrificed it’s customers comfort to maximize profit margins and reduce costs. Will I use APT again yes, do I recommend APT yes however please be an informed tourist and ask upfront for the vehicle comfort levels before being forced in to a contortion exercise.

We booked through viator.com and received a discount for booking 2 tours. Grand Canyon National Park VIP tour was fantastic. Our tour guide Bob was the best tour guide we have ever had. He told us interesting stories, excellent driver, gave us plenty of time to explorer. The breakfast (blueberry muffin, nuts, cheese stick) lunch (turkey sandwich, salad, cheese and crackers, celery and carrots, chocolate cookies) snacks and plenty of bottled water and peanut butter crackers. Hoover Dam stop for photos and 3 hours to walk along the Rim trail. Walking up to Mather’s Point and seeing the Grand Canyon was breath taking it was as though someone pulled back the curtains and your eyes couldn’t believe the massiveness of the Canyon that went on for miles and 1,000 feet down. Of course you see fools who are oblivious to the 10 people on average that die each year venturing beyond the path or sitting their children on the walls to take a shot that would be just as a amazing from the path.
