"Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Customer Service & Unacceptable Conditions"

I booked my stay at Caesars Palace through American Express Travel, which included a 12 p.m. check-in. I know early check-in is based on availability — but when I arrived at noon, others were being checked in at that same time. The front desk agent told me that my specific room type (two queens) was "the last one left to be cleaned" — not that it would be ready shortly, not to check back in an hour — just that if I wanted to get into a room now, I could pay an extra $160 to upgrade. It felt like a very dismissive, transactional response — no real effort to accommodate or honor the Amex booking. And to make it worse, another front desk rep later told us that we could have been checked in earlier, which made it even more frustrating. When we finally got into our room after 4 p.m., the hallway on our floor reeked — like wet carpet, mildew, and old moisture. It was awful. I even asked a maid if all the floors smelled that bad and she said, “Yeah, probably.” But I went and checked multiple other floors myself — and they didn’t smell like that. It was clearly specific to ours. The smell was so strong that it followed me into the room. I felt uncomfortable even walking on the carpet. I went to the front desk to ask to be moved. I was told there were no other rooms available. Keep in mind, this was check-in time, and the hotel was still actively filling up. I went online and saw that King rooms were still available. Yet no one offered to move us — even as an option. There was no offer like, “We don’t have your room type, but would you take a King?” Nothing. Just a $75 food credit, as if I wanted to dine in a hotel that literally stinks. Later, I called the front desk again. A representative answered, seemed understanding, and promised a manager would call me. I left my number. No one ever followed up. I checked in Friday and checked out Sunday, and not once did I hear from management. After checking out, I called again to follow up. The supervisor I spoke to tried calling the front desk multiple times and couldn’t get anyone to pick up. He said he would send them an email to request a callback. It’s now Tuesday, and of course — still nothing. I paid over $1,000 for two nights, and this was the service? A room on a floor that smelled like mildew, completely dismissive front desk staff, and a total lack of care or follow-through? Caesars Palace should be embarrassed. This was a completely unacceptable experience. They’ve lost my business — and I hope anyone reading this thinks twice before spending their money here.

"Good Experience"

Third floor, Julius tower. Room was comfortable, if not particularly extravagant. Cleaned regularly. My wife appreciated the nice, cool air conditioning. Good experience overall. Would stay again. Note: be wary of the mini-bar in the rooms. We had no problems, but merely bumping it can lead to exorbitant charges for things like M&Ms, etc.

"Poor Customer Service"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5

This review is regarding customer service when trying to make online reservations for your staff. I would NOT recommend these properties. They require a fax for credit card authorization, when I did that, they only took it for one of the two reservations and would NOT help me fix the second reservation requiring my staff member to use her own and me to again have to call billing and reverse the charges. They were not friendly nor helpful and our school district will NOT be using these properties again when there is a plentiful supply of other properties with excellent customer service. My recommendation - book your staff elsewhere.
