Very disappointed with Hilton and their response to my complaint about their deceptive advertising. We booked this hotel in large part on its advertisement that they had a rooftop indoor pool available. We are visiting Chicago on one of the hottest weeks of the year and were really looking forward to using the pool on our vacation. After checking in, the sign in the elevator told us that the rooftop pool has been closed for four months! At about the same time, we received a text from someone at this hotel asking if everything was good, and if there was anything he could do. When we explained the situation with the pool, he proceeded to argue with us that they did not advertise a pool as being available on their website. He continued in this position even after I sent him photographs from this particular hotel’s webpage showing that they advertised that we should “enjoy our rooftop pool.” Upon check-in, they had also enrolled us in the Hilton rewards program, which I asked that we be immediately remove us from because of the false advertising. He just provided me with an 800 number that put me on hold. We will NEVER stay at a Hilton again!

I stayed for only one night - but found this to be a totally solid hotel. Key points: - excellent location - rich t by the magnificent mile - really spacious suites, with a good layout for flexibility - the hotel is in good condition and is smart if not exciting - staff were good - helpful and effective - the restaurant serves great coffee (some of the best I had on my whole trip) and good food. It's Australian run - which I think does shine through in the coffee in particular. I'd say certainly a solid 4* hotel, at a reasonable price point. It's a shame that the pool is out of service for so long. I'm not really sure why that is - I think some kind of city mandated renovation? There is work going on at lower levels on the hotel exterior. That didn't bother me at all. Service in the restaurant / coffee bar was a little slow at times - but everyone was friendly and warm.

The room was clean and well stocked with coffee stuff, microwave, mini fridge and lovely smelling toiletries. Our view was amazing! The staff was super friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

The Hilton Magnificent Suites is located just off Michigan Avenue, a block away from Lake Michigan. The hotel offers self parking and valet, we opted for valet at the moderately higher charge for the convenience. Check in was friendly and quick, with a bottle of water provided for each guest. Our suite was perfect for our group of 4, with two double beds and a sleeper couch. The bathroom was amazing, very spacious and great pressure in the shower, with Crabtree amenities. Downtown Chicago prices are fairly steep, so be forewarned. Our rate did not include breakfast. The pool was under construction and the gym is a bit small. However the location more than made up for it. We happily strolled along Michigan Ave during the day and walked to Navy Pier for the Saturday night fireworks.
