Great Wolf Lodge Gurnee

Very crowded, but besides that... great place to stay for a little staycation! Although the place is targeted generally for younger audiences, so their stuff is very shallow

There are bed bugs at the gurnee location. 4th floor, tower 2- we discovered one took a picture and even gave it to the housekeeper. They heat treated our items but without knowledge of bed bugs you can easily bring them back home with you. We had items that could not be treated in the tent and we have experienced bites after returning home. They said a 3rd party company handles these issues and will get back with us if there is an infestation. No one has gotten back with us. I have tried for days to get answers. My family and children have been traumatized and have now spent a small fortune on replacing clothes, bedding, pesticides, natural repellents and much more. No one answers the front desk phone you will spend hours trying to get through. Email chains have gone nowhere and they are most likely going to have a class action lawsuit as personal lawyers do not like taking these small cases. It seems like alot of reviewers have been dealing with the same issues as us. I am praying that we have resolved any infestation starting at home but we will never stay at great wolf again. I do not recommend this location. Save yourself.

During my stay at Great Wolf Lodge, Helen Johnson truly stood out and made our experience exceptional. From the moment we interacted with her, she was professional, attentive, and genuinely kind. She took the time to ensure everything ran smoothly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and taken care of. Helen’s positive attitude, patience, and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. It’s clear she takes great pride in her work and truly cares about the guest experience. Team members like Helen are the reason guests want to return to Great Wolf Lodge. She represents the brand extremely well, and I hope her efforts are recognized. Thank you, Helen, for making our visit such a memorable one.

I enjoyed the politeness, and how on point the lifeguards are. I can swim but feel very at ease for those who can’t and children. Rooms were comfortable and I liked my location. What I am very disgusted with is not the employees but the GWL corporation. I should not pay for a room and still pay for parking that will keep me from coming back. The lazy river should be just that not for children swimming causing unnecessary ruckus that’s why they have wading pools and the wave pool. Lastly, my room was not 24hours it was 4pm -11am checkout! All the $$spent and I count get in my room until 4pm I’m not wanting to be in the water park until room was ready. That’s not cool or professional so another reason I will not be returning.

Upon coming into Great Wolf Lodge it was extremely packed with guest moving in and out. I have anxiety and when she called me to her counter she was so calm very explanatory of the policies and very very helpful. The most pleasant experience in a place full of people I literally walked away with all the information I needed for my stay and had no worries.
