My only complaint is having to wait for people who were late to their pick up points.
However, once we arrived there (grandma, grandpa and granddaughter) we had a great time. Our bus tour guide was hilarious and the trip there and back flew by thanks to our guide's consummate professionalism.
We especially enjoyed the pig being pulled out of the ground. Me being Mexican-American and my wife Colombian-American, it brought back many wonderful memories when we feasted on lechon at our family gatherings.

"Don't go!"
April 2018
The place has a tired look and feel to it. My lasting impression is that they charge above average fees for mediocre food, paper plates, the wrong serving utensils used to
serve some of the food, chessy Vegas like show, an announcer who mumbled his way through his announcements, poorly made drinks, and the worst of it all was the disgusting restrooms. Unclean, smelly and in poor condition. The eating area filled with sand was also a turnoff. The luau on Kauai is much better and the one at the Polynesian Cultural Center looks much better.

We really enjoyed the luau and festivities from the time we got there to the time we left. The dancers and the buffet were great. Our tour guide "Greg" made the bus ride go by quickly with his wit and knowledge.

The Germaine Luau was absolutely fantastic and the best of two luaus that we attended while in Hawaii. We paid a little extra for seats closer to stage, and the one on one service and spacious seating was well worth it. Everything from the greeting as we arrived to the friendly staff was so impressive. The beautiful ocean waves were within just a few feet of your arrival area, make a stunning backdrop for photographs. We absolutely loved this luau and the dancers were amazing and talented. Our 32 year old son was chosen to dance with a female hula dancer, and it was just one of the best times we will always remember. If we ever get to return to Hawaii, we will go back to this luau for sure.

"Aloha Germaine!"
January 2015
The setting is beautiful for Germaines's Luau on the shore of West Oahu . The show is right on the oceans edge in Kapolei. The sunset was amazing and during the festivities you could hear the sounds of the ocean. They have the most kind and helpful service and everyone makes you feel like you are there for them! The stories told in dance were mesmerizing, we even attempted the hula with them. The smell of the underground oven, roasting the pig, lets you know that you are in for an amazing feast. We dressed up for the occasion and the Luau was wonderful.

This luau was recommended to us by a tour guide as 'the best on the island'. Not having anything to compare it to I can't confirm that this is true, but you'll have a pleasant night right on the water's edge watching a virtually non-stop performance on the stage. the buffet is plentiful and tasty. The beer cold and the staff very efficient and friendly. It is very regimented in seating, serving and getting to transport, but this doesn't really detract from a good night.

"Was disappointed, but still enjoyed it"

I came to Hawaii for the fist time to visit my daughter who recently moved here and she asked everyone what luau would be the best and they recommended Germaine’s. I had high expectations since it was highly recommended I was a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed it. But they said you would be getting a lay and you did, but it was a tiny seashell lay, not even flowers. The food was good but we asked for vegetarian options, thank goodness because there was not one vegetable on the buffet line, not one! The fruit was just pineapple and melon not any local dragon fruit or papaya or mango just regular fruit I can get on the mainland. And there was an incident that happened, we bought the middle package (expensive enough) and I went up to take a picture during the show and one of the Jermaine employees came running up to meet instantaneously and asked me if I was a Plumaria guest, which is the most expensive seat . He embarrassed me and treated me like a criminal even though I was just taking a photo and I said to him I’m taking a photo. He didn’t apologize, he just said oh and walked away like as if I was doing something horrible! Plus they did a lot of interaction with bringing people up there on stage. I would’ve preferred using the time more wisely to give us more of a show then always looking at strangers learning to Hula. Or recognizing what bus they came on to the show. With all that being said I’m glad I saw the show. I thought it was overpriced for what we received and I saw some local free shows that were just as exciting and impressive, but overall I’m glad I went.

"One of the few Oceanside Luau's!!"

This is one of the few luau’s I found that’s on sand and next to the ocean! The scenery is great and there’s a really cool spot to take pictures with the water behind you. Not sure why, but Germaine’s has a few different websites and booking brokers. I’m quite frugal, so trust me and go to this one for the best price: The setting is really awesome but it’s tucked away in this industrial park surrounded by some old buildings. The parking lot is fenced and has plenty of parking. They also have super friendly lot attendants if you have any questions. As you walk to the ticketing office, watch out for buses entering because they get a good crowd of people from Waikiki. The ticket agents are also really nice. We got a shell lei with our entrance tickets and they took our group picture before we walked in. We attended on a Wednesday and there were still a lot of people there. Once you are in, it’s kind of confusing. The seating and stage are there as you enter but no ushers to direct you. There is an adult bar near the ocean side and a non-alcoholic bar on the opposite side. We received 1 free adult drink with our admission. The cups are small but they pour them strong. The non-alcoholic drinks are unlimited. Bartenders were very friendly. Bring cash for tips. PRO TIP: grab a few extra free drinks to place at your table to reserve your seat(s) if you want to walk around There is also a gift shop and an area where you can enter into a raffle near the non-alcoholic bar. We purchased the cheap seats towards the back and had no issues viewing the show. The more expensive seats were closer but we didn’t notice any difference in experience. The nice thing about our seats was that we got an entire table to ourselves. Each table also came with a wrapped stick of freshly sliced pineapple as an appetizer. The show started with introductions and some basic luau etiquette. Then the MC directed us towards the back of the venue where the pig was being cooked underground. They have a separate viewing area there to see the ceremony of them removing the pig. The MC also goes back there and narrates the whole process. Once everyone has returned to their seats, the show continues with the dancers and some audience participation. The performance is totally family friendly with jokes and some fun table competitions. The buffet is set up towards the back and the tables are dismissed in groups. I believe they started with the front seats but our table was too much into our conversations to really notice or care. The variety was plenty. There was rice, buns, meats, veggies, fruit, and dessert. Most of it was Hawaiian so I have no idea what the items are called. My first round was to try a bit of everything and I liked it all. On my 2nd round, I took in some more of the fresh roasted pork. The food is unlimited but I was full after that. The show was entertaining up until their goodbyes. The performers do come out briefly to visit and take pictures with the guests but left before we could get to thank them. The group photos are also available to purchase.

This luau was outstanding! After arriving, we took a quick photo on the beach. Grabbed drinks and walked around a bit before the entertainment began. We watched the pig uncovered from the ground and then was called up for dinner. Food was great and the entertainment was incredible. If you want an authentic luau on the beach, then Germaines is a must!!
