Description

from Germaine's Luau Hawaii
Take in the rich cultural heritage of the Pacific Islands at Germaine's "Too Good to Miss" Luau. Enjoy the spectacular show delivered to you at the ocean’s edge, under the stars and palm trees. Be touched by the magic of ancient Hawaii and its splendor. Feel the touch of Aloha. Experience a Hawaiian luau like no other and discover why visiting Germaine’s Luau once may not be enough.

Let Germaine’s Luau take you back 100 years & 27 miles from Waikiki to our exclusive beachfront property on the shores of West Oahu. Since 1976, over 3 million visitors to our Islands have become a part of the Germaine’s Ohana. Germaine’s Luau has been acclaimed as America’s Best Luau in “America’s Best 100” and has been filmed by ABC’s “Good Morning America”. Come to where you will still experience a traditional luau that recaptures the “Spirit of Old Hawaii”.

Upon arrival, all of our guests are traditionally welcomed with a Hawaiian Shell Lei. The sounding of the conch shell announces the beginning of the evening’s festivities! Picture taking opportunities await as the Royal Court of Polynesia makes its entrance. As the imu (underground oven) is uncovered, the savory aroma of the Kalua Pua’a (roasted pig) – your main course of the evening – reminds us that dinner is soon to be served.

Our all-you-can-eat buffet features an array of tasty Hawaiian – American selections, which include traditional Island favorites sure to please even the less adventurous.

The night is filled with beauty, color, and excitement as our multi-talented kane (men) and wahine (women) take you through a non-stop, action-packed journey throughout the Islands of Tahiti, Samoa, New Zealand as well as the romantic hula of Hawaii.

The evening also includes unlimited soft drinks, coffee & tea as well as 3 beverage coupons for all adults 21 years & older.

"WE HAD A GREAT TIME!"
August 2018
My only complaint is having to wait for people who were late to their pick up points.
However, once we arrived there (grandma, grandpa and granddaughter) we had a great time. Our bus tour guide was hilarious and the trip there and back flew by thanks to our guide's consummate professionalism.
We especially enjoyed the pig being pulled out of the ground. Me being Mexican-American and my wife Colombian-American, it brought back many wonderful memories when we feasted on lechon at our family gatherings.

"Don't go!"
April 2018
The place has a tired look and feel to it. My lasting impression is that they charge above average fees for mediocre food, paper plates, the wrong serving utensils used to
serve some of the food, chessy Vegas like show, an announcer who mumbled his way through his announcements, poorly made drinks, and the worst of it all was the disgusting restrooms. Unclean, smelly and in poor condition. The eating area filled with sand was also a turnoff. The luau on Kauai is much better and the one at the Polynesian Cultural Center looks much better.

"Exciting Luau"

We really enjoyed the luau and festivities from the time we got there to the time we left. The dancers and the buffet were great. Our tour guide "Greg" made the bus ride go by quickly with his wit and knowledge.

"LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS LUAU!!"
July 2016
The Germaine Luau was absolutely fantastic and the best of two luaus that we attended while in Hawaii. We paid a little extra for seats closer to stage, and the one on one service and spacious seating was well worth it. Everything from the greeting as we arrived to the friendly staff was so impressive. The beautiful ocean waves were within just a few feet of your arrival area, make a stunning backdrop for photographs. We absolutely loved this luau and the dancers were amazing and talented. Our 32 year old son was chosen to dance with a female hula dancer, and it was just one of the best times we will always remember. If we ever get to return to Hawaii, we will go back to this luau for sure.

"Aloha Germaine!"
January 2015
The setting is beautiful for Germaines's Luau on the shore of West Oahu . The show is right on the oceans edge in Kapolei. The sunset was amazing and during the festivities you could hear the sounds of the ocean. They have the most kind and helpful service and everyone makes you feel like you are there for them! The stories told in dance were mesmerizing, we even attempted the hula with them. The smell of the underground oven, roasting the pig, lets you know that you are in for an amazing feast. We dressed up for the occasion and the Luau was wonderful.

We were on a cruise and took this tour. It was okay. We were stuck on the side, so didn't have a good view of the show. Don' t know how people got the good seats. The buffet was okay--it's a buffet. What can you expect? Still a nice experience. Need to do a Luau while in Hawaii.

This was one of the excursions that my husband and I choose as we have never been to Hawaii or to a Luau. We truely enjoyed the show that they put on. The food was really good as well. Not much else to say except that we really enjoyed ourselves.

"Fun Show- Good Food"

While the overall feel of this Luau is touristy, the show and costumes were nice. I felt rushed with the food. They were quickly packing it up when we wanted to get some seconds. Also, the drinks weren’t that good. The food was delicious and they gave variety. The performers were authentic as well as the costumes. Overall it’s an enjoyable evening. My suggestion is to go in at the lowest price possible because a closer view and more drinks are not worth the high fees they charge.

"Party Luau not for kids"

We were disappointed with this Luau. If you want to get drunk and stupid it would be great but if you want a family appropriate luau go to the Polynesian Cultural Center and skip this one. We also purchased the original luau package (they tried multiple times to up sell us). We were last off the bus and last to go through the buffet line. They were out of many items of food and the quality was lacking by the time we went through the line.

Have gone to this Luau several times since the 80’s. Have always had a blast. Usually from the moment you get on the bus, they greet you and make you feel welcome and get everyone in a festive mood. Our bus guide was not friendly and really just rude. He was dismissive of anyone asking questions. He tried to act like I wasn’t talking to him and I had to ask 3 times standing right in front of him. There was an elderly lady whose chair was not upright and she tried to ask him for help and he just turned around and walked away. My husband had to assist her. It was quite evident he was simply ignoring her. Then most of the way, they blasted music so loud you had to practically scream for the person next to you to hear you. He did get up and paste on a fake smile and make canned jokes that he clearly memorized. It was so weird. He was clearly going through the motions and didn’t want to be bothered. That was hugely disappointing as it was the first time for 2 of our party whose birthday it was and this was their first time in Hawaii and a luau. And, I had told them this was the best one. The show, however, was great. Maybe slightly abbreviated. The crowd seemed more subdued and I wonder if it wasn’t because of the horrible bus ride. But, the performance was excellent though for some reason at times we couldn’t hear what the man was saying. But, the hosts and dancers were engaging and fun. The other bus hosts seemed to be a lot of fun when we saw them do the little dance competition and we wanted to switch busses! And, the food was disappointing! It wasn’t awful, but it was always amazing in the past. It was simply decent here, which again, I had compared them to other luau’s with amazing food on Maui. And, we had been saying the others were a close second because the food was amazing, but not as good as Germaine’s On the way home, he did take the time to do the hang loose song. And, again, he was very seeming to plaster a smile, make a few jokes, but clearly not into it and going through the motions. I haven’t been to Germain’s in a while as I have been on Maui more. But, I doubt I would revisit. I have never been to a bad luau. I enjoy them every time. And, this luau itself was wonderful, if not a bit strange at times. The timing was odd. They sent everyone to go eat but continued the show instead of taking a small break, weird things like that. It also takes more time and effort to get there than the ones readily available from the hotels. What set them apart was the warmth and genuine ohana feeling and amazing feeling. But, if you can get a great show, great food, and no hassle getting there with someone who clearly doesn’t want to be bothered with their group, then might as well book the most convenient. This was a family birthday event with 3 birthdays, all adults, no teens but the only family choices here for what sort of visit are: family with small children and family with teens?
