Located between Orlando and Kissimmee on the South Orange Blossom Trail, Gatorland is one of Central Florida's classic attractions, and provides a unique and natural alternative to the larger theme parks of today. Founded by the late Owen Godwin in 1949, and still privately owned by his family today, Gatorland is a 110-acre theme park and
wildlife preserve, combining "Old Florida" charm with exciting, new exhibits and entertainment, making it Orlando's best half day attraction®.

Known internationally as the "Alligator Capital of the World ®," Gatorland provides affordable family fun showcasing thousands of alligators and crocodiles including four extremely rare leucistic "white" alligators. The free-flight aviary, petting zoo, one of a kind animal shows, natural alligator breeding marsh, and the "thrilling" Screamin' Gator Zip Line will ensure your day will be filled with Fun, Smiles and Special Memories!

Get up-close and personal with gators, crocs, birds, turtles, zebu, deer and much more! Enjoy one-of-a kind shows like the Alligators – Legends of the Swamp as one of the bravest daredevils at Gatorland

water. Then head on over to the Up-Close Encounters Show where you can expect to find the unexpected!

Feed the lovable animals at the petting zoo and the aviary. Then head out to the Swamp Walk or Alligator Breeding Marsh and Bird Rookery where nature is in charge and every visit is unique!

An expensive day out, quite a disappointment, old and tired, not up to the usual polished professional shows and parks. Would not recommend.

"First experience Zip-lining"
October 2019 NEW
I went to Gatorland as a kid and remembered loving it so now I've taken my kids, this is their third time, they absolutely love it. This time we went specifically for the zip-lining. Kids ranging in age from 11 - 15 they had a great time. An experience they will always remember.

Tip: If you get the Groupon for admission/zip lining don't expect to use it right away. You have to make reservations for zip-lining. I wanted to make sure we could get in before purchasing then I bought the Groupon and it did not become available until the next day. Gatorland was great about letting me cancel the ziplining without penalty.

"A good trip back in time"
October 2019
Gatorland reminded us of places we visited growing up. No fancy neon, electronics no buy his shirt etc at every stop. Good entertainment at a great price, very family oriented, defiantly would recommend for family. Very refreshing after a day at one of he major theme parks, also great price also needed after day at major park.

Very good place to spend a day with family. Like a private petting zoo for alligators. Plenty to do & experience throughout the park. Lots of shows throughout the day. Zip line & feeding is a must experience. A must visit place in Orlando área.

"Great Experience - bring lots of dollars in change (hidden costs for feeding etc)"
September 2019
Unique experience which is worth doing but lots of hidden costs for extra things - feeding birds, holding baby alligators, feeding them etc - can all add up. Worth getting the package deal but still costs for separate activities. (no package includes everything)
Shows were good and water park was good fun for the children and ideal for a cool off. Can spend at least six hours there doing everything and having a bit of lunch.

Tip: Bring cash/change with you to buy animal feed - watch out for the greedy birds :-) !

One of the best places we went to on vacation!! There is so much more than gators here. They have many other animals, petting zoo, zip line, rides, etc. We need to come back just to see/do everything.

"Best stop of our trip!"

This was the best stop of our trip. My sister (who’s deathly afraid of EVERYTHING) got picked from the crowd to help hold a massive boa constrictor, my son eagerly agreed to take a pic with the same snake, we got to see alligators, crocodiles, flamingos, tortoise, and so many more, and there were still things we didn’t get to do. The place is huge with so much to do for all ages. I highly recommend this stop to anyone thinking about going!

A wonderful change of pace from the corporate theme parks, and reasonably priced. Good for couples or kids. There is so much to see, you can feed birds and crocodiles alike. Well informed staff and most of the animals look well cared for. There was so much to do and see, that we didn't leave enough time to do everything. We will return to finish:)

"Fun and educational!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed November 10, 2019 NEW
I went to Gatorland because it is the oldest theme park in Florida. I figured it would be a good place for me to kill a couple of hours while my husband attended the Microsoft Ignite conference, but I ended up staying most of the day! Not only can you get up close and personal with several of the animals, it's extremely educational. I did the swamp walk and loved the embedded signs that explained what I was looking at. The train ride is informational as well if you don't want to take the long walk. The layout is such that you can see a ton of gators right up front if you don't want to spend a lot of time, but spread out enough that you can explore on your own away from a lot of crowds. On the swamp walk, there were long periods of time where there wasn't another soul in either direction - very cool but somewhat freaky at the same time :) I wasn't expecting a lot going into it but Gatorland turned out to be one of my favorite parts of our trip to Orlando!

"Brilliant Day out "
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

Excellent day out, left to wander at your own pace and take everything in at your leisure, we went for the grunt package, but in all honesty I wouldn't bother next time, 9 year old loved sitting on the gator, which in hindsight I the adults didn't need to buy the grunt package to view (I don't agree with that sort of thing so was a waste for me to purchase the grunt package) likewise to feed a gator, you can purchase if you wish once inside for not a lot of dollars, so I dont feel if was of benefit. Besides that it was an excellent day out one of our favourites of the trip! Highly recommended
