Even if rain is in the forecast, go to Dollywood. You’ll experience shorter wait times, fewer crowds, and more chances to ride your favorite coaster or ride over and over again. We walked right onto Tennessee Tornado, Wild Eagle, and Mystery Mine!

Description

Ride record-breaking coasters, catch live music, and explore Smoky Mountain culture—all in one day at Dollywood. This 160-acre Pigeon Forge theme park includes more than 50 rides, shows, and attractions, from high-speed roller coasters to dedicated areas for younger kids.

The park includes award-winning coasters like Lightning Rod and Wild Eagle, along with Big Bear Mountain, Dollywood's longest coaster with a 39-inch minimum height requirement. Wildwood Grove and Country Fair feature smaller rides and play areas designed for younger kids. New for 2026, NightFlight Expedition is an indoor adventure coaster that combines storytelling and immersive effects, with a moderate thrill level designed for both families and thrill-seekers.

Live bluegrass, gospel, and country performances take place throughout the park at venues like Showstreet Palace Theater, DP’s Celebrity Theater, and multiple outdoor stages. In Craftsman’s Valley, watch artisans create handmade goods such as blown glass and hand-forged steel items. There’s even a fully operational grist mill, home to Dollywood’s world-famous cinnamon bread.

Award-winning festivals and events run throughout the year, each celebrating a different season:
  • I Will Always Love You Music Festival (March 13 – April 12)
  • Flower & Food Festival (April 18 – June 7)
  • Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration (June 15 – August 2)
  • Harvest Festival and Great Pumpkin LumiNights (Sept 14 – Oct 31)
  • Smoky Mountain Christmas (Nov 6 – Jan 3, 2027)

Dollywood tickets include access to these seasonal festivals, along with the park’s rides, shows, and attractions. Choose a 1-day visit to cover the highlights, or upgrade to a 2-day or 2-park ticket to add Splash Country (seasonal) and explore more of the park.

Fabulous time at Dollywood. This was the first time we have ever visited at Christmas and it was truly magical. The lights were beautiful. Most of the rides were open and there was even “snow” in the 50 degree weather. We went to a show there as well. I was afraid my kids and fiancé wouldn’t enjoy it. He hates musicals!! It was my decision, before purchasing tickets that we attended one show. We all loved it. It’s a great place to visit during Christmas, truly magical. Santa even made a visit. Oh, and don’t forget the cinnamon bread! It was amazing!

"Excellent Park"

We loved all the shows at Dollywood and of course the train ride to see all the lights at night throughout the park. It was worth the cost for everthing that was included. I would recommend to anyone traveling in the area.

Tip: The train and all shows are included in the cost of the admission. Also look into free VPK for kids. You will need a pic or copy of birth certificate but our 4yr old was free admission with this program.

"Family had a awesome time and Dad had plenty of places to rest!!!"
December 2025
When you first walk into the park, we were confused about which direction to go. Quickly found assistance and got a map. Turns out, which ever direction you go, its just one big circle.
We have different age children and the park offered a variety of rides.
Most rides were perfect for both ages snd had just enough excitement to not be too overwhelming. Plenty of places to eat and get something to drink. Plenty of restrooms. Plenty of parking. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Park was very clean and beautiful flowers everywhere.

Tip: If it's your first-time, be prepared. Parking was $25 a day and you could pay more for preferred parking. If you drive up the mountain to park in lot F, you are beside the preferred parking and walking isn't too bad. Arrive early and parking is a breeze. Also most attractions are still open in the rain. Be prepared for slight price gouging.... for example the bubble machines, were $45 and at other similar parks they are only $25. Bottle water is $4

"Was somewhat dissapointed"
December 2025
Half of the park was closed, not sure why, and it left very few options for dining. I anticipated that the shows would be of better quality, but they weren't. My daughter simply wanted a tee that said Dollywood on it and couldn't find any since it was all holiday themed.

Tip: Must really like the holidays to be there
