Sunrise Ridge is nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, and just a few miles from Gatlinburg, Dollywood, and the national park itself. You can lose yourself in nature’s wonder from your balcony or one of the resort’s three swimming pools. At Sunrise Ridge, there are no bad seats from which to watch a sunrise or sunset, see the fog that gives the Smokies their name, and enjoy the colors.

Of course, a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a must. Enjoy camping, hiking, and rafting in the warmer months, skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere all year long. Live entertainment abounds, too, in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, where you can choose from a variety of shows, sip a bit of mountain moonshine, or visit the Hollywood Wax Museum.

We were placed in a handicaped room, should be given to someone that needed it. Furniture is wore out, needs replaced. Latex gloves laying in the yard for 4 days before they were picked up. Views are awsome.

"Not impressed"

We’ve stayed at several Diamond resorts and this was the worst. Normally there is a bag in the bathroom filled with toiletries not just random items. The pool was small and the activities center was not very good. The road going there is fine during the day but at night you better drive very slow and safe. You get no service from there to the strip. Scary! Also there is no wifi really. They tell you to pick one and hope it works ( their true words to us ) . Also at check out they want you to clean your condo to almost perfect before check out. I think that’s crazy. None of the others we’ve been to make you do this. It was over all a decent room but not at all what we are used to with the diamond resort chain. Won’t stay here again.

"Great Location and Facilities But Terrible WiFi Bandwidth and Service"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

First the good: Great location in the middle of a very large tourist trap area. This hotel is in a very rural area, away from the massive traffic on the Parkway. Many restaurants, family entertainment, Dollywood, and many others are within a few minutes to half an hour away. As a result, the nights and neighborhood were very quiet. Our RCI room was well maintained and comfortable. Beds were better than average. Sunrise does a good job of keeping all the kitchen appliances and utensils working and in good order. Very functional BBQ grills, pool area and fire pit to warm you on cold nights. The not so good. If you need to keep internet connection with your work or if you want to keep your kids entertained with video or gaming streaming, this is NOT the resort for you. WiFi bandwidth is simply HORRIBLE. I had trouble just connecting to Video streaming was not possible at all. If you need to connect to work, a trip to a Starbucks is your solution. After a conversation with the hotel staff, it was clear they know about the deficiency for a long time and the hotel financially decided wifi bandwidth was not an important priority over the years. All TV stations are analog signals in the rooms. Even though there were 2 LCD TVs in our unit, again hotel management wanted to save money by deciding a much superior digital signal for the TVs was not important to their customers. Plumbing is sluggish. Neighbor had to call maintenance for their toilet. Our toilet was barely functioning and I had to keep an eye on it every time i flushed OVERALL: If you and/or family would like a vacation near the Dollywood area without wifi and without high quality TV service, this is a very good choice. I am picky on this review because we decided to stay in our rooms for a couple of days during a bad weather spell. So if you need to keep moderate to high levels of internet connection throughout your stay, you should look for another hotel choice. Unfortunately, these cons really tarnish this hotel's reputation from being a great resort.
