Sunrise Ridge is nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, and just a few miles from Gatlinburg, Dollywood, and the national park itself. You can lose yourself in nature’s wonder from your balcony or one of the resort’s three swimming pools. At Sunrise Ridge, there are no bad seats from which to watch a sunrise or sunset, see the fog that gives the Smokies their name, and enjoy the colors.

Of course, a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a must. Enjoy camping, hiking, and rafting in the warmer months, skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere all year long. Live entertainment abounds, too, in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, where you can choose from a variety of shows, sip a bit of mountain moonshine, or visit the Hollywood Wax Museum.

"The good, the bad and the ugly"

The good: this place has gorgeous views! You have a picturesque view of the Smokies, of Dollywood’s fireworks each night and of the resort. It also is nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Rooms are HUGE and clean. Pools were great as well as comfy pool furniture. Parking also was nice and available. The bad: it is a “no smoking” facility, yet if you go out on the balcony or out the front, people are smoking, so it smells of smoke everywhere (and we are highly allergic). There is also a lot of kitchen items missing that would help make the stay more convenient. Not one single spatula or anything to use on grills made it hard to use. The ugly: BUGS! There is also the most uncomfortable couch I’ve ever sat on in the living room (and loud). The AC is hit or miss and is the old school kind that you have to push down. No fans or circulation in the rooms which made the cigarette smoke (and pot smoke) pretty stagnant at times. The resort overall is good, just needs some updating and to figure out the smoke issue. Maybe one building where people aren’t allowed at all, even outside, so those that want to sit outside and enjoy the view can.

I have stayed here twice for family vacations. We absolutely love the place the views are awesome and every night you have your own fire works show from dolly world. It’s far enough off the main strip you feel like you are actually in the mountains. The only place I will stay when we are in Pigeon Forge.

"Nice place."

We enjoyed our stay. The resort does need some updating and the hot tub needs to be fixed. There is no restaurant or bar on the lot but overall we enjoyed our selfs. The property is very clean and the beds are good. If your going for a sales update, well they are the same as usually......nice at first, then get upset when you don’t buy or upgrade

"Diamond has not improved the property!"

The units need a great deal of maintenance in addition to updating. The kitchen needs a lot more cooking and serving items. There weren’t even utensils to use at the grill. The furniture is so uncomfortable it is difficult to relax. One of the pools was constantly out of balance. Almost a year and a half of management and Diamond hasn’t improved the property they just want to sell you on their point package.

This place was on the edge of bankruptcy. Saved when Diamond Resorts bought them. Great views of the Smokeys. However the place needs work. Old carpeting, very small swimming pools. Lots of work needed! Nice size king bed, but bedroom needed a ceiling fan. Just my preference. Also a bonus, nightly fireworks from Dollywood easily seen from balcony.
