Description

from Sunrise Ridge Resort
Check-In: 5:00pm Check-Out: 10:00am
Sunrise Ridge is nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, and just a few miles from Gatlinburg, Dollywood, and the national park itself. You can lose yourself in nature’s wonder from your balcony or one of the resort’s three swimming pools. At Sunrise Ridge, there are no bad seats from which to watch a sunrise or sunset, see the fog that gives the Smokies their name, and enjoy the colors.

Of course, a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a must. Enjoy camping, hiking, and rafting in the warmer months, skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere all year long. Live entertainment abounds, too, in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, where you can choose from a variety of shows, sip a bit of mountain moonshine, or visit the Hollywood Wax Museum.

We stayed here this past weekend and the resort did not disappoint! We had a 2 bedroom unit with full kitchen, living room, 2 bathrooms and eating area! The unit was clean and well equipped. The resort was centrally located in Pigeon Forge and close to many attractions!

A roomy 2 bedroom suite that was well furnished and very comfortable. The staff were well trained and extremely friendly. While in a private location the Resort is very close to all major attractions. This was our second visit and should we visit the area again would choose Sunrise , if available.

With the covid-19, gym closed, spa closed. This resort will charge you 12.50 per day for resort fee, for any part of a day. Nice 2 bedroom unit. 2 outdoor pools very nice, 1 indoor pool also very good.

"Nice but needs to pay a little more attention to cleaning rooms"

My family and I stayed at Sunrise Ridge Resort from July 18-25. I'll start with location. This resort is located in Pigeon Forge. It is close to all of the shows and has lots to do only a few minutes drive away. The grounds are kept up nicely. Check In was a breeze and staff was friendly however the office seemed to have a slight odor of cigarette smoke, even through my mask. It was faint though. When we got to the elevator to bring our luggage up it seemed that people used that area to leave a lot of their trash. There was a big pile of it. The elevator itself had a weird odor to it. We opted to use the stairs more often than not. The room we stayed in was nice, not as renovated or upgraded as previous resorts we've stayed in. It definitely could have been cleaner. There was hair from a previous person on the toilet and in the shower. The sofa bed mattress enclosure was not clean and look like it hadn't been in quite some time, when we requested a new one they delivered it in a bag outside of the door which I understood due to covid but what makes them think I want to change a mattress cover that was obviously not cleaned in some time when that should have been the job of housekeeping. Needless to say we did not use the sofa bed nor did we put the new cover on it. There was a cheeto on the floor right by the bed that was not ours. Maybe housekeeping is overworked due to people not wanting to work during Covid but I feel this is worth mentioning. My only other issue with the room is the size of the tvs especially with the placement of them being way across the room. Both the tvs in the living room and master bedroom were way across the room from either the couch or bed and a bit on the smaller side so for older people or people that wear glasses it could be harder to see. I do suggest that they think about getting bigger tvs. The latch (lock) on the door at the top didn't work. It looked like someone who stayed their previously most likely pushed the door open with the latch on and pretty much ripped it off the door. During our stay we had issues with the dryer in the unit. Of course it would act up for us but work when maintaince came to check on it. Until it didn't. The motor went out. I will give maintaince credit where credit is due. They were very quick in repairing it after taking a motor out of another dryer I believe. The pool area was clean. My son definitely liked to go there. A bonus was that it was right around the corner from our room and when he was at the pool sometimes his sister would be looking down. He liked showing her things. There was only once while there that children were out unsupervised (if you are 14 or older you do not need supervision). Check out was simple. Just follow the checklist leave your keys on the counter call downstairs to let them know your leaving and be on your way. Overall, I would recommend this resort and probably stay there again myself. I do suggest that housekeeping pay closer attention to details.

Sunrise Ridge was located up a 2-lane road surprisingly to the top of a ridge where you can see most everything. Units were spacious, staff was courteous and friendly, and it was a nice place to be to visit Pigeon Forge and the surrounding Smokey Mountains.
