Crowne Plaza Times Square in New York City, NY

This location is PERFECT for tourists like us :) Very convenient to everything! An easy walk to Central Park, Rockefeller, subway stops, and of course right in the middle of Times Square/Broadway. A perfect spot to get back from a long day, have a quick stop in the room to bring things back and change, before heading out for a show or evening out. Clean, well-stocked, comfortable. So happy with our stay, would definitely come back!

Extremely disappointed with this hotel. I stay at the Hyatt Regency in London and I am used to a certain level of service being part of the World of Hyatt. Sadly this hotel does not have that level of service. The person who took my checkin told me to go up and check my room to see if I had got the request that I requested. No bathrobe no slippers were provided and no coffee nor tea. I had to ask for a tea kettle and then ask for tea bags. Not what I expect from a Hyatt Regency. All in all a disappointing experience.

This isn’t a short review, but it’s one you will be glad you read. In a city the size of New York City, your choices for hotels are many, but there is truly only one you should choose. If you’re looking for that, “New York City Experience”, there is absolutely no reason to consider anywhere else to stay than the Hyatt Regency Times Square. Once there you will experience the reasons why! The Staff – No matter where you stay, if you feel isolated when help is needed, it can ruin your time…with this staff that will never be a problem. Literally, at every level, from upper management to those who greet you at the door, there is such a kindness, and willingness to help in any way…it makes New York City feel a lot smaller, knowing you have people who care about helping you. The Location – Why miss staying anywhere else than, “Times Square, the heartbeat” of the city. At any time of the day, it’s magical. From the lights, to billboards, to premier stores that range from the adults who want shopping, to children who want fun…all within less than a five-minute walk. The Rooms – You will feel comfortable in every way…from the bedding, to room amenities, to any housekeeping request you ask, to the quiet… as you can hear a pin drop in the rooms. The Grab and Go Food Area – When in New York City, you are certain to have plans. Each morning, from the freshly brewed coffee, muffins, egg sandwiches, bagels, to the wide variety of items in their cooler, you will be satisfied and on to your plans. Whether you get to New York City often, or for your once-in-a-lifetime visit, the Hyatt Regency Times Square will exceed your expectations and be a meaningful part of your trip.

We visited this past week. The temperature ranged from the low 30’s to high 40’s. There was no heat in the room. Only a/c. We were told that the entire hotel can either have heat or a/c at one time. And the heat had been turned off for the season already. Our room was 61 degrees with the a/c off. We were brought a tiny space heater. Only a tiny one could be used or the electrical breaker would trip. The refrigerator was broken and could not be fixed. We were brought an old, small refrigerator with a bunch of dents in it. The safe was broken and never got fixed. The corner of the shower was not sealed so water would pour on the bathroom floor if the shower nozzle was not directed towards the side wall.
