"Great time in Time Square will be back"

Got switched over to the Hilton last minute because my other hotel was overbooked, but that decision ended up being the best from the time we checked In Melissa at the front desk made me and my boy feel at ease. Not being from New York she pointed out attractions and things to do and she made sure our room was exactly what we needed to be comfortable. At one point we joked she must live at hotel because she was always at the front desk whenever we needed something. Working in hotels I have a certain standard of customer service I expect when I go other places and Melissa exceeded that

"Wish I’d gone elsewhere"

Very small rooms with paper thin walls. Heard noises from other rooms, doors slamming and TVs on high volume and people talking loudly in their rooms and corridor. As such never got a full nights sleep. On checking out we were asked how the stay was and explained the noise issues. Receptionist said she was sorry and that we should have advised them which is a fair comment although most noise was after we had gone to bed and to be fair you couldn’t tell where it was coming from other than mostly in the corridor. A change of room may or may not have helped it very much depends on the insulation? The doors could have softeners to stop the slamming this would be a big help to start with. Usual resort fee in New York is a joke and hotels should be upfront and just increase pricing rather than try to justify “mafia tax” with premium Wi-Fi and bike hire lol

"Mediocre hotel"

This hotel is way too noisy it's an old building and you hear a lot of street noise even at higher floor level. There's no sound protection. The decor is dated and worn in the rooms. It's alright for a short stay - but as I had longer for work I regretted my decision to book here, unaware from the reviews that this was too noisy and old. Would not stay again. In Australian dollars this would have to be a very nice hotel, but it's really not.

The hotel is in a great location. Things like the Empire state building and the Broadway theatres are all in walking distance. The staff are very helpful and the hotel is clean. It's got 3 elevators and we weren't waiting around for them. The place seems really efficient and we'd a great stay for 6 nights. We had breakfast there a couple of times and it was more than adequate at a reasonable price. The room was comfy and had working air conditioning. Honestly couldn't fault the place.
