"Disappointing and unethical – live animals on stage in Manhattan?!"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5

I honestly can’t believe this is still happening. I went to see the Radio City Rockettes in December 2025, expecting a festive, classy holiday show — not a live animal circus. Yes, they actually bring real animals onto the stage, including camels. In the middle of Manhattan. Under bright lights, loud music, and nonstop applause. The animals looked confused and completely out of place, and it added absolutely nothing to the experience. The dancing itself was fine, but once you notice the animals, it’s hard to enjoy anything else. This could easily be done with projections, props, or modern effects. Instead, they choose to stress live animals for the sake of “tradition,” even though it contributes nothing to the show. For a production that claims to be magical and family-friendly, this felt outdated, unnecessary, and uncomfortable to watch. I left feeling more sad than festive. Won’t be returning unless they rethink this practice. Do better, Radio City.

Probably one of the best dance musicals I've ever seen. All the dancers were in sync and went for 90 mins. Enjoyed every moment. We were more up the back upstairs. For more of an experience book at the front/middle as they got to experience more of the effects. Highly recommend seeing!

"The Rockettes show is a classic New York City appearance to view."

The Rockettes show lasted about ninety (90) minutes without any intermission. My admission ticket was seventy-five dollars ($75.00). I grew up in this metropolitan area, and I had never previously been to this show. I went to this show with my mother on a Sunday morning, and it was packed. It was helpful to arrive earlier, and I was admitted an hour prior to this show’s commencement time. There were metal detectors, and the staff was amicable. This theater had been nicely decorated. This theater had many bathrooms and concession stands which were available over several stories. I enjoyed the choreography, the acoustics, and the artwork. The dances certainly took much practice to learn, but I did get bored at some times.
