With the "please touch" and audio-animatronics of a theme park coupled with the provenance of a museum, the St Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum will take you on an awesome pirate journey both above and below deck filled with compelling lore, surprising facts and an abundance of sensory perceptions.

The museum offers an exciting and educational experience that will transport you and your family back in time over 300 years. Among more than 800 museum-quality artifacts, threaded through the storyline is the original journal of Captain Kidd's last voyage, the only authentic pirate treasure chest in the world that originally belonged to Captain Thomas Tew and the oldest pirate Wanted Poster for the capture of Captain Henry Every.

The pirate museum is located directly across the street from the famous Castillo de San Marcos and is within easy walking distance of downtown parking and shopping.

"Argh!!! What a great museum!"

My wife and I had alot of fun touring through the pirate museum. Lots of historic relics, interactive exhibits (don’t hit the canons with the stick! Haha) and some awesome movie props. Well worth the time and money.

"Very Cool Museum"

This was quite possibly my favorite museum in St. Augustine. The artifacts are very cool and the presentation makes the experience memorable and fun. Wandering through the immersive sets and stumbling upon the artifacts scattered throughout really makes the exhibits and information come to life. The small audio show is a unique addition, firing cannons and tying knots is fun, and seeing the various props and costumes from pirate movies is a fun way to finish. I wish the museum was a little bigger, with a little more to see, but I would still happily recommend this attraction to anyone visiting St. Augustine as one of the city's absolute must-see's.

The museum was a true 💎 gem! This museum has a phenomenal collection of real pirate treasure and other pirate artifacts! We enjoyed the museum, we read all the information and listened in, while a school class got a guided tour! The "pirate" who was telling the stories, was really accurate and a very good story- teller! The museum got a lot of good and realistic information, told us about the way pirates really worked and also told us how the movies did us believe in things, which were not true! If you go with kids, the museum offers a really nice treasure hunting map and if you do it wright, you even get treasure 🪙! Next time, we will definitely do a guided tour with !

The museum has many interactive exhibits that take you back to the time of pirates and their adventures. We learned about the most famous pirates like Sir Francis Drake, Captain Henry Morgan, Blackbeard, Calico Jack, and others, about their lives and how they lived and died. The museum also has many treasures and pirate artifacts that have been collected over the years by the museum’s owner, Pat Croce, including the world’s oldest treasure chest.
