Beautiful Branson, Missouri is located in the heart of the Ozark Mountains.  Surrounded by three pristine lakes and home to a variety of activities, there’s enough to keep your family busy for weeks.

1) Spend the Day at a Theme Park

Branson is home to two theme parks – Silver Dollar City and White Water.  At Silver Dollar City you can step back in time and into old-fashioned fun.  Home to more than 30 rides, over 100 demonstrating craftsmen and a variety of entertaining shows, the park has something for every member of the family.  Young tykes can head to Half Dollar Holler for pint-sized fun while the big kids can ride thrilling coasters like Outlaw Run and Wildfire.
Known for their world-class festivals, Silver Dollar City hosts a variety of special shows, performances, and themed events.  Visiting during the summer?  A festival designed for kids and families – The Star-Spangled Summer Celebration – will add even more fun to your day.
Need to cool down during your Branson vacation?  Head to the beach within reach known as White Water.  The aquatic park is the perfect place to splish, splash, and play.  Extreme waterslides, lazy rivers, a giant wave pool and areas designed for the little ones are just a few of the ways you can cool off while having a hot time at the park. As a result, this waterpark tops the list of things to do in Branson for kids.

Table Rock Lake is an ideal place for fun in the sun!

2) Explore the Great Outdoors

Where better to reconnect with nature than Branson? Inviting Table Rock Lake offers endless ways to enjoy the natural side of Branson.  Go for a swim, rent a boat and cruise the lake or even parasail above the water for a birds-eye-view of the area.  Nearby visitors will find the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery, which is the largest trout production facility in Missouri.  Take the kids there to feed the fish and learn about these native Missouri fish.   There are also hiking, biking, horseback riding, ziplining and canoeing options available in Branson.  Be adventurous and explore the wonders around you.

The National Tiger Sanctuary lets you get up close to big cats. (Safely, of course!)

3) Go Wild at Animal Attractions

If there is one thing all kids seem to love its animals.  Luckily there are several attractions in Branson allowing kids to see animals up-close.  The Promised Land Zoo is home hundreds of rare and endangered animals. In addition, they have an area dedicated to babies and bottle feedings. Accordingly, the zoo is one of the most popular things to do in Branson for kids.

Mesmerized by tigers?  I know I am.  At the National Tiger Sanctuary, located just north of Branson, visitors can view exotic animals such as Bengal Tigers, Siberian Tigers, and African Lions.  Another unique animal attraction is Branson’s Wild World.  An interactive aquarium is home to sea life, including sea turtles, and Wolf Woods features a pack of wolf puppies that were raised and bottle fed.  There’s even alligators, spiders and snakes to see – perfect for boys!

Be sure to arrive early at Dixie Stampede to make time for the horse walk.

4) See a Kid-Friendly Show

There’s plenty of wholesome entertainment in Branson. If you’re searching for a show that will captivate your kid there are three can’t miss options: Dolly Parton's Stampede, The Haygoods, and Grand Country’s Amazing Pets.  Dixie Stampede combines delicious food with trick-riding, friendly competitions, and spectacular music and comedy.  The Haygoods are a highlight because their youthful, energetic and modern show appeals to a younger demographic while still pleasing mom and dad.  The Amazing Pets show is a good pick because it stars rescued dogs and cats performing a variety of special (and silly) tricks.

At The Track, it’s a race to the finish line!

5) Be a Kid Again with Your Kid

Classic family fun is the signature of The Track Family Fun Parks.  Challenge your kids to a go-kart race, splash around on bumper boats, hit the batting cages or play a round of mini-golf.  Once you’ve covered all your bases at The Track board Ride The Ducks.  The amphibious, open-air vehicles tour Branson by land and sea.  All riders are given a wacky quacker and once you splash down into the lake (Taneycomo or Table Rock – depending on your ticket choice) a few lucky children get to drive the Duck!
