How to Spend 3 Days in Myrtle Beach

February 19, 2017

When you visit Myrtle Beach for a short period of time, it is all too tempting to spend every waking moment at the beach.

Although, spending all of your time at the beach means missing out on everything else Myrtle Beach has to offer — from entertaining shows to extreme thrills. Instead, maximize your vacation time and experience it all by following this itinerary for 3 days in Myrtle Beach.

Day 1

Morning

Rise and shine! It’s time to go to the beach.
Start your 3 days in Myrtle Beach off right with a morning by the ocean. During this time of day, the weather is ideal, crowds of people haven’t poured in just yet, and it leaves plenty of time in your day for more activities. While the morning may not be as sunny as the afternoon, be sure to pack plenty of sunscreen and water for your beach excursion.

Pack up your beach gear and head back to your hotel or condo to prepare for an exciting afternoon along the Myrtle Beach boardwalk. With 1.2 miles of fun, restaurants, and entertainment, it’s easy to spend an entire afternoon strolling the iconic boardwalk.
To start your boardwalk adventure, grab lunch at one of the restaurants along the boardwalk such as the legendary Peaches Corner. The boardwalk has everything from a quick bite to eat to sit down restaurants.
Once you’re fueled up and ready to go, be sure to check out the multiple Myrtle Beach boardwalk attractions and entertainment, such as:

  • 2nd Avenue Pier
  • Pier 14
  • SkyWheel Myrtle Beach
  • Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Odditorium
  • Sling Shot
  • Ripley’s Marvelous Mirror Maze
  • Ripley’s 5D Moving Theater
  • Skyscraper Thrill Ride
  • Ripley’s Haunted Adventure
  • Fun Plaza Arcade
  • Ripley’s Super Fun Zone Arcade

No matter if you love a good thrill or want to shop for souvenirs by the ocean, the boardwalk has something for everyone.

Nighttime

The best way to spend your first night in Myrtle Beach is by watching an outstanding show. Be sure to reserve your tickets for shows such as:

These high-quality productions are sure to blow you away. From the technology and extravagant sets to the sheer talent of the performs, tickets to a show must be part of your 3 days in Myrtle Beach.
Note that some Myrtle Beach shows also include a meal, while others do not. If your chosen show does not offer a meal, dine at one of the top oceanfront restaurants in Myrtle Beach before the curtain rises.

Between the relaxing beach and the extraordinary entertainment, I’d say the first your 3 days in Myrtle Beach will be a success.

Day 2

Morning

Once again, spend your morning at the beach. Soak up the sun, splash in the water, or go for a stroll along the beach — whatever suits you! If you’re an early riser, I highly recommend watching the sunrise from the beach. It’s a sight you’ll never forget.

Afternoon

After you’ve gotten your beach fix in for the day, it’s time to explore Broadway at the Beach. Home to a wide variety of entertainment, attractions, restaurants and shopping, this Myrtle Beach treasure is sure to be a highlight of your trip.

Since you probably worked up an appetite from your morning on the beach, you’ll want to stop at a restaurant first. From Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville to Original Shucker’s Raw Bar, finding the perfect place to eat is easy at Broadway at the Beach.

For a thrill, check out the Soar & Explore Zipline and Ropes Course. Kids and adults alike will love zipping above Lake Broadway at incredible speeds. Between the ropes course and the zipline, guests will conquer 33 challenge elements and soar 50 feet in the air.
If you’re an adrenaline junkie, head over to the Broadway Grand Prix for continued fun. Zoom around a go-kart track, scale a rock climbing wall, and scream your head off on the Skycoaster thrill ride!

Other popular Broadway at the Beach attractions includes Ripley’s Aquarium, WonderWorks, and the Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center.

With so many things to do and see at Broadway at the Beach, my advice is to choose your top three activities and purchase tickets in advance through Tripster. You’ll skip the lines for the ticket booth and head right into the attraction, ultimately saving you time and money.

For those who visit Myrtle Beach during baseball’s offseason, why not spend the night playing a round of mini-golf? Instead of spending your morning at the beach, you’ll want to fill up on a hearty breakfast today. Trust me, you’ve got a lot in store on your last day in Myrtle Beach. If your Myrtle Beach hotel offers a continental breakfast, eat up!

One of the well-kept secrets about Myrtle Beach is the expansive list of delicious breakfast restaurants. No matter if you want pancakes or a massive omelet, you’ll find exactly what you’re hungry for in Myrtle Beach.
