Check In was pretty smooth. Our key cards were deactivated in the middle of our stay, but were reactivated with no trouble. The room was okay. The room didn't appear the same as advertised online which is kind of deceiving. Floors could have been swept and mopped. The view from the balcony was fantastic and our kids loved the pool.

Where do I start? I arrived to this hotel in the evening. I was sent up to a room that was unacceptably NASTY. Upon first glance! I went to turn on the light and while I was feeling around for the switch the base of the lamp was sticky. When I turned on the lamp there were hairs stuck to the greasy sticky lamp base. The table shook that the lamp was on. There were roaches.. 🪳 every where! Not water bugs…. Household roaches! The door to the oceanfront balcony was not on a track. It would not open. I went back downstairs, The desk clerk, *upgraded* my room to the *penthouse*. I asked if I could see the penthouse first. He stated that he would have to assign it to me first. The penthouse was worse. Filthy dirty. More roaches. I was floored. The lock did not work on the balcony door. It was just swinging from the nail. I told him I could not stay it was unsafe and filthy. And the door to the ocean, the reason I came, did not work, in either room. He AGREED WITH ME and stated that I would not be charged. He kept reiterating that he *un-registered me and that it would be as if I was never there*! This of course was false. I did not stay. And I WAS STILL CHARGED. When I returned the next day, after sleeping in my car the new desk clerk was rude with a smile. They stated that this was not true . Kept giving me an email address to contact the manager. The manager, by the way, the owner, does not and will not contact you. EVER. I sent emails for several months without any response at all. This person is ABAJEEBAPA PATEL. He does not and will not ever contact you he DOES NOT AND WILL NOT EVER CONTACT YOU. Do not waste your time contacting him. He also manages another hotel. Broadway at the beach. I never got my money back. The WYNDHAM HOTEL will not resolve your issue. They state that the hotel is privately owned and send you back to the afore mentioned *gentleman* who does not answer. Please do your self a favor and stay at the Hampton inn across the street. Do not stay at this decrepit, disgusting heap of garbage hotel with managers who do not resolve issues and lies told by their staff.

I stay at the Sandbar > 20 times per year. Always an excellent visit with no complaints whatsoever. Couldn't go without a shout-out to Betty. She is excellent to work with at the front desk. All of the nice employees are why I continue to visit this motel.
