When to Go

Every day is a great day for brick-fueled fun at Legoland! However, if you seek to spend more time riding rides than waiting for them, we have some suggestions. The following tips will guide planning the perfect Legoland California stay:

  • School's Out - if possible, plan your trip for when school is in session, and for the love of all things brick, don't visit on a major holiday!
  • Check one, check twice - the calendar, that is! Legoland resort hours can vary, so be sure to check the official calendar to keep up to date on all schedule changes and/or closures.

Tickets & Ticket Packages

Got your official Legoland entry date locked and loaded? So then save yourself the hassle of long lines by pre-purchasing your tickets ahead of time.

Park Strategy

While Legoland may not garner the cult following of some of California's other theme parks (we are looking at you, Mr. Mouse.) It still pays to have a savvy park strategy in place for your visit.

We advise setting those alarms and arriving at the park early. Assuming you seek to conquer every plastic brick-laden inch of Legoland Park and Legoland Movie World.

If you and your kiddos can hack, it's best to arrive at the Legoland entrance about 20-30 minutes before opening. As usual, this is when employees will 'drop rope' or open the gates.

Too early for you? As long as you hit the park before noon, you should be in for a smooth (ride) sailing.

Start your Legoland journey in the back of the park and work your way forward, saving the most popular and busiest rides such as Coastersaurus, Fairy Tale Brook, and Safari Trek for later in the day.

Add Ons & The Mobile App

Like life, the best laid Lego agendas don't always go as planned.

For those brick fiends searching for a little extra security, or some premier access, Legoland has a multitude of options to help you upgrade and customize your theme park experience:

  • Ultimate VIP Experience - treat yourself like the star you are with a pampered Legoland Ultimate VIP experience. Featuring priority access to all rides, exclusive behind-the-scenes tours, valet parking, lunch, refreshments, and more.
  • Reserve N' Ride - maximize your riding pleasure with Reserve N' Ride. Choose from three levels of access: Express, Deluxe, and Ultimate. The higher your chosen level, the less you wait! In addition, you can easily upgrade your regular access ticket to a higher access level for a small fee within the Legoland mobile app.
  • The Mobile App - a must download for any Legoland visitor. The mobile app is your new best friend, keeping you apprised of ride waits, park offers & discounts, live showtimes, height requirements, and more.
