What to do on a rainy day with friends in town that needed a reprieve from Broadway - head to the Johnny Cash Museum on 3rd Ave! If you're a fan of Johnny Cash or American music history, the Johnny Cash Museum in Nashville is a must-visit. The museum has received numerous accolades, including being voted the Best Music Museum in the U.S. in 2023 by USA Today's 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards Entrance fee is $28 + tax for adults and $24 + tax for children 6-15 yrs old. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult. Parking might be challenging and pricey, but there is a lot to do once you are done investigating the museum. We spent @ 2 hours exploring the museum. The museum boasts the world's largest collection of Johnny Cash artifacts and memorabilia. HIs famous guitar with a dollar bill threaded thru it is beautifully displayed along with stage attire he wore. There are also interactive displays, photos, and recordings of his Folsom Prison performance. The museum is well organized and chronologically laid out. FInally, the gift shop has a variety of items and souvenirs to delight any collector. Whether you're a die-hard Johnny Cash fan or a casual visitor, the Johnny Cash Museum provides a comprehensive and heartfelt tribute to one of America's most influential musicians. It's a worthwhile stop that offers insight, nostalgia, and a deeper appreciation for the Man in Black's enduring legacy. And, if you want a special treat, make a reservation for the House of Cards Restaurant and show which is in the basement of the museum. It was pricey for the food (which was also mediocre), but the entertainment was phenomenal!

This is a small museum right off of Broadway (the main tourist street with all of the honky tonks/bars). It was not very crowded and had a great deal of information regarding his long career and milestones. It included numerous videos, his musical equipment, clothing and personal items from his homes. They have a great gift shop also.

What an eye opening experience! A ch ace to see all the sides of a true legend A must- see while in Nashville. Johnny Cash was a poet, a balladeer, an ideologue, and a complex artist.

They did a nice job with a timeline of events. A few short videos. Several interactive touchscreens…unfortunately 1/2 of those weren’t working. Not a lot for 30 bucks

This place was awesome. Go early it can get crowded. Don't forget to visit The Cash Carter grave site 30 min. north in Hendersonville.
