World Center Hotel in New York, NY

Staff was exceptionally friendly and worked with us on every request during our week long stay. Suite was spacious for NYC standards. Having 4 elevators is nice instead of 1-2 at other hotel. Not luxurious by any stretch but a good experience and great value.

We stayed 2 nights at World Center Hotel in NYC, and this was a huge disappointment. This hotel should not be advertised as a 4-star property. Bedding quality was unacceptable. The sheets were ripped and torn, which you can clearly see in the photos. This is not something you expect at any hotel, let alone one claiming to be 4-star. We booked a room for 3 people with a sofa bed, and the bedding provided for the sofa bed was honestly a joke. Thin, worn-out sheets and blankets that looked old and neglected (again, shown in the photos). When we called reception to ask for proper blankets, the receptionist was extremely rude and told us: “We usually recommend guests to bring their own blankets when using a sofa bed.” Excuse me??? How is anyone supposed to bring blankets on a plane for a long weekend in New York? This response was shocking and completely unprofessional. Customer service was terrible overall. Staff were rude, unhelpful, and made us feel like we were asking for something unreasonable. Instead of making our stay easier, they made us feel uncomfortable and “less than.” Conclusion: Terrible bedding, rude staff, poor service, and absolutely not a real 4-star hotel. I do not recommend this hotel and would never stay here again.

We pre-booked via a third party, and specifically asked for a top floor room, due to a mental health condition. When booking in the UK, this request is understood as a room on the very top floor. In the US, they assume 'a top floor', not the actual-top-floor. So, when we arrived, we were told our room was top floor, but not on the highest floor. We panicked a little, and fortunately, Runita saved the day. She explained that a room on the top-floor had the restaurant above, and may be noisy evening/early morning. At this point after travelling for 14 hours, we took a chance, and thankfully it worked out, and the room was quiet. Runita really reassured us that the room would be fine and quiet, and we really appreciated her attentiveness and empathy, in allowing our stay to be relaxed. The hotel was fine enough, the staff were amazing and friendly.

Great location to the 9/11 Memorial, we could see it from our window. Staff was friendly and all very nice. Love the water station outside of room, it even has refillable, recyclable bottles. Room was clean and set up nicely.

Misrepresentation the room and views. It is important for guests to have their reservations honored as expected. Was not what I reserved and paid for in advance.
