On arrival there was confusion regarding our booking and though it took a good while to sort out the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was good with coffee facilities and little fridge. Small pool and had movie nights. Bit out of the way for tourist attractions though they had a shuttle bus taking you to Universal which was great.

We booked two rooms in the Garland. We were checked in by a very rude and standoffish young women. One of our rooms had a broken balcony door and we were told we would have to wait for maintenance to come and fix it. We asked to change rooms and the woman begrudgingly done this for us. We asked as there was a child staying in this room and for safety it would be best to change. On another occasion the same women was on reception and was not helpful when we asked questions on how to get around in a strange city. I was told her name was Chandler. I think she should be trained on customer service and perhaps be more helpful. We heard her be rude to other guests as well. The bar staff were very friendly and the waitresses were lovely. Food was excellent. The rooms were very clean. The only thing was there was a very strange smell on the 4th floor which we told the receptionist but nothing done. We had stayed in several hotels while in LA and the water in the rooms were free. I suggest the Garland should offer this. Over all it was a lovely hotel but the receptionist we first saw put a dampener on our first impression.

"A Great Family Friendly Hotel in North Hollywood"

We were in town celebrating our anniversary, and my wife had a 2 day class that she was attending, we were looking for a nice hotel with amenities that I could take advantage of during the day, and somewhere that was pet friendly ; The Garland did not disappoint. From the moment we checked in the hotel staff as nice and helpful. We requested early check in, and we were in our room by 12 PM. My wife got ready to go to her class and our pups and I got settled in. The pool was nice with a walk up bar window, and a full pool menu for food, and for a more upscale bar and food menu the prices weren’t bad either. There is also a lot of things to do, such as night time movies at the pool and a gym. This hotel is also very family friendly . The room was true to the pictures on the website and the property had grass areas and a dogpark for our boys to do their business. If you are looking for a nice hotel with great amenities in the North Hollywood area, check out The Garland, you won’t be disappointed. The only downfall that is worth mentioning is that they have excessive additional fees. For example, self and valet parking seemed avearge, and are taxed.

It has been our 4th stay at the Garland. We just love it there, that's. why we come back every year. It's centrally located to everything, The hotel is close to freeways and easy get around. The grounds are lovely, and the pool is a great place to relax. We often had lunch out there and the food is quite good. The hotel is lively and always busy. Their restaurant The Front Yard, appeals to hotel guests as well as diners looking for great food and atmosphere. Their reputation speaks for itself. We got to know the Hotel Manager really well and he has always been accommodating to our needs. from extra pillows and hangers., to a room overlooking the pool. We come with our pet and with dogs allowed, the hotel is so clean and spotless. My pet got a welcome package from the hotel complete with placement and bowl and a toy. Their housekeeping team is warm and friendly. Our room was always cleaned and the bathrooms as well. Thank you Riley and Daniel for another great time, see you in 2026.
