"Lovely hotel"
September 2018
We got the suite 2 bedroom 2 bath. It was really big and just a overall great experience with the staff. Breakfast was over the top . It was way different compared to other breakfast hotels. The diner inside was bomb.food had flavor and the guy in there was very informative. They also give discounts on Disneyland ticket..whaaaatttt!!! They have a big pool . Everything there was great. I recommend for people to stay here. Only thing that kind sucked was that they only gave 2 parking stalls for it. I came with a family of 3 for 2 bedroom 2 bath with 4 queen beds and only 2. So they told us about a parking down the street for 24$ a day. I was hoping to get another parking stall since i paid so much for the room, but overall great hotel great food and great stay.

"Great proximity to Disney"

We stayed in the two bedroom and two bathroom suite which was great for a family of six. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We picked this hotel because of the proximity to Disneyland which was only a 10-15 minute walk away. Another reason was the free breakfast, which was severely disappointing. The breakfast had little selection and unappetizing. Overall the stay was good, but the breakfast was a big let down; especially before a big day at Disney.

"Very noisy and billing issues"

I was looking for a nice, quiet hotel to relax at for a couple days but this hotel was unable to provide this environment. Caution: This is a family hotel and you will very well hear around the clock screaming in the pool area which literally echos in all of the surrounding room. In addition, I was charged twice for the cost of the room and didn't know till my card declined two days after checking out, which was extremely inconvenient. The manager, Jen, checked me out and didn't ask me how my stay was or didn't thank me for staying there. May sound petty, but after spending almost 500 for 2 nights, I expected to be treated like a valued guest, not a stranger. Lastly, the parking wasn't made clear to me before reserving the room. You will be charged for every day and every car. Hidden fees will surprise in the end!

motel staff were mostly very professional, efficient and friendly. dining room staff very friendly and kept bars well stocked. Front reception staff were a little untidy, could have had better presentation with clothing and appearance, but were attentive and helpful.

"Decent place to stay for Disneyland."

Desert Palms is located behind California Adventure. It's about a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the entrance of Disneyland park. With kids it sometimes feels longer than that especially at the end of the day. The rooms are clean and housekeeping does a great job each day. The beds are comfy and not over worn. The hotel is an odd shape so some of the elevators don't reach every floor. It's easier to get around using the stairs if you can. Also, your room window can face a wall or the first floor of the parking garage (I've had bad luck with the views each time I've stayed here). Avoid getting an adjoining room if you don't need it, unless you want to hear everything going on in the next room. They do a great job with breakfast. Lots of different choices. If you are planning on doing a magic morning at Disneyland you might need to make other breakfast arrangements or plan on being late to magic morning. Breakfast at the hotel starts 30 minutes before magic morning, and with the walk to the park, it doesn't work well. Overall, Desert Palms is a great place to stay. They have a variety of rooms to meet any need or size of family.
