The lobby is a dump. Paying for an upgrade for an ocean side room does NOT mean you are beside the ocean. It means the building is beside the ocean, and if you want to see it, you have to lean over the balcony. If you want your room to be where you can enjoy the ocean, you have to pay for a second upgrade to get an ocean FRONT room. The clerks don't read the preregistration form they send you to fill out, thus ignoring any requests you might make. The desk clerks don't give you your parking pass; instead, they send you across their tiny lobby to a desk where a man gives you a spill about joining a "vacation club"...i.e. timeshare. The garage is a wreck waiting to happen (too narrow to make proper turns). If a car is coming down while you are going up, one of you has to back up so the other person can make the turn. Don't expect simple guest amenities such as toothpaste--they don't have any. The one good thing about this hotel is the room; it was actually very nice, but it should be after paying for two upgrades!!

We absolutely loved our stay! It was our first trip to the beach together, and it was our honeymoon! The staff was so kind and friendly, I can not say enough good things about them! The room exceptionally clean! The pools were amazing and never overly crowded! We loved it so much that we’ve decided to make Sea Side our family vacation/anniversary trip destination every year!! Next year we are bringing our 4 big kids, our baby, my husbands mom, and my husbands aunt, uncle, and little girl with us! They let us view the 3 bedroom condo and it is so spacious there’s no doubt that all of us will be able to stay in it comfortably! As an added bonus leaving was made a little bit easier because we weren’t expected to do anything but pack our things and leave! I was shocked to find out that we didn’t need to put towels in the tub or washer, dishes in the dishwasher and start it, or take out our trash! This trip was by far my favorite beach trip ever, and a lot of that was because of where we stayed. Thank you again to all of the amazing staff at Sea aside!! We can’t wait to see you again next year!!

OMG! Where do I begin? Well, the lobby is an absolute dump! They send you a preregistration form that they don't read. After checking in, they send you across the lobby--if you can call it that--to a table where you are forced to listen to a sales pitch before getting your parking pass. Like I would consider buying a vacation club membership for this place? (Vacation club is their term for time share). I had paid extra to have an oceanside room and had requested a room on a lower floor, but was given a room on the 12 floor (they only have 14 floors). Of course, they didn't know I had made this request because they didn't read the form I filled out ahead of time. I walked to the balcony and OMG! oceanside doesn't mean you're beside the ocean! It means you're on the side of the building that faces asphalt, and if you lean over the railing, you can catch a glimpse of the ocean. So after 3 trips to the lobby and raising Cain and paying another upgraded fee, we were given an ocean front room. Now to the garage. It is a danger to society. You can't make the turns, and if a car is coming down while you are going up, woe be unto both of you. To get to the beach, you take a scenic walk through the garage to the front of the building and around two dumpsters. There are only two elevators in the entire hotel, so you have to wait an eternity to access one. If your arms are full of luggage and/or groceries, you have to set things down while you wait...and wait...and wait. One last thing...have you even heard of a hotel that doesn't have basic amenities for guests...such as toothpaste? Well, you have now! The one good thing I will say is that the room was nice, but Lordy, it should be after paying to upgrade twice!

When I first arrived to check in along with my wife, daughter, granddaughter and two great grandsons I met Angela Roberts at the front desk. She was an absolute delight to meet and was very helpful and accomodating during my two day stay. The view of the ocean and the beach was fantastic. However, that pretty much was the highlight of our trip. The room was big and spacious (we rented the 3 br, 3 bath condo), but the room needs attention. The one window in one of the bedrooms was almost completely blocking the view of the beach/ocean because of an accumulation of condensation on the inside of the windows. The drape hems were all torn out and they needed to be replaced. It made the room look dingy. In one of the bathrooms the set screw was missing from the bracket and when you went to get some TP the whole toilet paper holder fell off of the wall. The carpets are old and need to be replaced. The toilet tank in the bathroom off of the master bedroom kept losing water from the tank and then you would hear the water running, filling up the tank again. When I made my reservations I was asked if I wanted to include the continental breakfast charge in the room charge and I said yes. I did this because it would be much more convenient to feed 7 people right there in the hotel rather than loading everyone up into two cars and going out for breakfast. I had called down to the desk on our first evening and asked what the hours of the continental breakfast were and I was told 7-10 and that the dining room was located on the first floor. I learned later that I needed to go to the front desk to get tickets for each person using the continental breakfast facility. When I went down to the front desk the next morning at 7 am I was told that the Continental breakfast was not being served during the weekdays, only on the weekends. This really pissed me off since I was already charged the fee for 5 adults for two days (Thurs & Fri) and now I am told that I can't use it. I will say that the staff were very accommodating and my charges for the breakfasts were refunded to me. But, I still had to now load up 5 adults and two grandkids into two cars and go somewhere else for breakfast (which ended up costing me $57.60 plus the tip. Not something I was planning on doing. After all of this and after 10 am the front desk called me and informed me that the Continental Breakfast WAS open even though the front desk did not know this and did NOT have to load everyone up and take them out for breakfast. We did use the breakfast facility on Friday morning prior to check out. The gentleman that was working in the dining room was very helpful and very nice. However, the breakfast items did not conform to what they advertise. There were no biscuits and gravy nor was there seasonal fruit. I think my next trip to Myrtle Beach I will go back to The Prince Resort (a sister property in Cherry Cove). I tried to go there this last time but they had no vacancies for what I needed. Again, I hope management will acknowledge the diamond that they have on their staff in Angela Roberts. She was absolutely GREAT!

"COVID-19 Not a Great Time to Visit"

Tips for staying at Seaside during COVID-19: 1) Don't. 2) Don't pay for the continental breakfast - they aren't offering it, but they won't tell you that until you get down there, and when you ask for a refund on it, they give you back $8 a day. If that sounds like way less than you paid for it, it's because it is. 3) Make your own arrangements for beach access - Seaside does not have a beach access of their own and uses the city's, which is currently under renovation. We asked the front desk for alternatives, and they suggested walking two blocks in either direction to use other access points, and/or finding a short pier and taking a long walk off of it. 4) The wi-fi doesn't work very well, and their "IT guy" is an small, green invisible Martian that only the front desk workers can see. 5) Don't make eye contact with the employees, especially not in the elevator. And don't ask them for things. Both of these things really bother them, and their comfort should be your chief concern while you are spending a big chunk of your annual income on a vacation. 6) Expect the unexpected - you're not renting a room in a resort, you're renting someone else's timeshare, so the experience varies from room to room, much like a haunted house or a mental hospital. 7) Don't.
