"Valentine’s Day Cruise"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

The vessel itself is beautiful. We went on Valentine’s Day and it was pretty cold in Chicago. We did go to the observation deck. The view is breathtaking. Our waiter Elmer was very sweet. We were even upgraded to a window seat!! The menu was sexy for the holiday which included the filet and shrimp. The ride is a little long especially when the vessel itself is freezing. Some heat lamps or space heaters needed. The food was ok, a little bland but that’s personal for me. Overall I’d certainly ride again.

"Night Cruise"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

Took the cruise Friday night 10/5/18. We were a group of six. From the boarding process to disembarking the staff and crew did a great job. The food was actually quite good. I had been told the food may not be the greatest, but this was not the case at all. Our server who goes by the Nickname of "Rage" was a complete blast. She really added to the overall atmosphere of our group. I can't say enough good things about her. If I had anything negative to say, it would be that the drinks were poured a little weak at first, IMO. However I mentioned it to Rage and that problem was fixed. I would definitely do this again!

"Brand new boat with great food and drinks"

Brand new glass top boat, food was great as were the drinks. Once they work the kinks with the food service that come with any new crew it will be even better. Only negative was they had too many tables set up and we were packed in like sardines, didn't know if it was because we had a large group that booked the whole boat and they added extra tables. Called to ask and be fair about what I wrote but no one called back from Odyssey. I would definitely go back for another cruise but would not hesitate to refuse to be seated in such a uncomfortable manner.

"Nice cruise on the lakefront"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed August 09, 2018
Been on this a couple times for events and celebrations. This one was for a very big milestone Anniversary celebration lunch cruise. 18 of us. Nice people boarding us. Seated us at 2 different tables, kind of crammed, the cruise was booked. Menu had 2 selections for app, lobster bisque and a Caesar salad. Salad was 2 pieces of romaine and creamy dressing on the side with a couple croutons. Had a few choices for the entre, salmon, braised ribs, ravioli and a veggie dish. Ribs were tender and good, salmon was a typical piece with a hollandaise sauce poured on it. Dessert had 3 choices, sorbets, butter cake with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate decadent cake. Desserts were great, butter cake and real vanilla bean ice cream was great. And the chocolate decadent cake very good. So overall the dessert was great. The downfall was the dj playing super super loud music right from the start of the cruise throughout the meal. We could not hear a word anyone was trying to say at either of our tables. Would have been nice to tone it down and play some nice cruising music during the meal, then turn it up later if people want to dance. No one was really dancing at all. We were told the server would tell the manager, but nothing happened. Our anniversary couple was not pleased. Also would have liked the dj making the announcement and perhaps just quickly reading the list of the people celebrating an event instead of just saying all of you anniversary people and birthday people get on the dance floor, which never happened at all. Did not think the music choice was the best. There are all age ranges on these cruises. Our meal service ran late and we did not have more than 20 minutes after the meal to go out on deck. It was a quick cruise. However you just can't beat that Chicago lakefront view. Just a side note, it costs $30.00 to park in the Navy pier lot to be closer to the lake cruise boats.

"Very Impressive"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed July 14, 2018
My mom's university had it's global reunion recently held in Chicago, and one of the highlights was having a lunch cruise on the Odyssey. We were informed by our tour bus driver/guide that this boat was one of the newer boats of the Entertainment Cruises fleet. He wasn't kidding; she, the Odyssey, looked like she was pristine condition. A bit of a digression: I was really happy that the weather cooperated because I don't know if the luncheon would have been cancelled due to choppy waves, although I have eaten in those types of conditions before. Praise Jesus for Dramamine. Since we were not the only large group there, it was a fixed menu consisting of a salad, a choice 4 entrees (beef ribs, tilapia, roasted chicken, and a vegetarian meal), and a dessert station. The salad was very good, even though it consisted of the simplest ingredients (Romain lettuce hearts, shaved parmesan, and a Caesar dressing). I had the tilapia, while my mom had the roasted chicken. Mom said that her chicken was good, albeit dry, but she soaked in the sauce that was served in it. My tilapia was served on a bed of risotto; it was sort of drowned in its sauce, but that helped with the tilapia. No, the tilapia wasn't dry, I just like to put additional sauce, or flavor, on it once in a while. As of the dessert station, I loved it because it satisfied my craving for eclairs. The eclairs that were served were of the mini variety, but I didn't care. Also served at the dessert station were various flavors of cheesecakes, brownies, and cakes. Staff was great except for the young man who was a bit rude in answering my Mom's request for a cup of coffee. I understand that we weren't the only ones on board, and that Mom temporarily forgotten our waitress's name--it was Amanda--, it would have been great if the situation was handled differently instead of repeating the question, "Who is your server?" in a rude way. Speaking of Amanda, she was very helpful! After apologizing about forgetting my mom's cup of coffee, not only she back with one, but three! I drank the third cup with my dessert. i deciding to step outside and go above to the rooftop lounge. The view of Navy Pier, and the rest of Lake Michigan was awesome. I picked a great time to come up there because we were coming in to dock, which the captain and his crew did with no problem. Would I come back here when visiting Chicago? Yes! Because I want to try the rest of menu!
